Last Phase of the Peace Talks in Addis Ababa: Who are Deciding the Fate of South Sudan?

The last phase of the IGAD-led negotiation….two principals, Kiir and Riek, meeting finally to decide the fate of the entire country. With them are their aides….So who are they who are entrusted with such a heavy task?
With President Kiir are two Dinkas—Chief Negotiator Nhial Deng Nhial and Information Minister Michael Makuei Lueth; With Dr. Riek Machar are one Dinka and one Nuer— Chief Negotiator Dr. Dhieu Mathok Diing and Puot Kang Chol.
AND here I am thinking….tribocratically….that the very fate of the republic of South Sudan is being decided by six people—FOUR Dinkas and TWO Nuers..
NO Equatorians present, though they represent over 31% of the South Sudanese total population, no Minority Group though the account for about 11% of the South Sudan national population.
There is the issue of the first vice president which involve the Equatorians (Wani Igga). I think it would not be fair for the Dinka and the Nuer to decide something which is touchy to the Equatorians without involving them in the decision making process.
Secondly, during the recent discussion in Addis Ababa concerning the security arrangement (the question of two armies), Bashir Bandi, a government official, was accusing the warring factions of trying to make the national army a monopoly of the Nuer and the Dinka.
If Bashir Bandi could not trust the Dinka and the Nuer to make that decision regarding the security arrangement in his own present, how could other Equatorians believe in whatever political and security decisions that these FOUR Dinkas and TWO Nuers will arrive at?
We spent a fortune, convincing the world that this is not a war between the Dinka and the Nuer, and then here we are betraying ourselves at a critical moment that really matter for both substance and a show….
My instinct is deeply disturbed…..
On the ongoing discussion between the two principals, here are the outcomes. They have virtually disagreed on everything on the table except the exclusion of the G-10 from the peace talks.
