General Oyay Deng Ajak released Statement on SBS Dinka Radio

g-4

“Some one called me from Juba and told me that ‘military Generals were talking about my presence in Kosti and that i have joined SPLM in O’. Again i was told of SPLM in O claiming that, “i joined them and that i was in Pagak.” These are all lies because iam here with my children. Iam celebrating with my family because of my sister in law who recently got married. I and my colleagues have stated it very clear to both Riek and Kiir that we have no intention to raise arms against any South Sudanese. And if I were to fight; why joined any of them? They shouldn’t create a problem with their loyal General who fought defending Kiir for the last one year and wanted to drag those who have nothing to do with it into their own failure.” The statement will be posted on SBS Dinka website Later.

So according to SBS Dinka Radio, Oyai Deng Ajak is in Kampala, Uganda, with his wife and children, not in Pagak with the rebels. Now, I understand how indispensable propaganda is to any warfare but there should be a limit to how it is deployed lest one lose sense of its value. If rebels and their sympathizers do respect the memories of their dead ones, if they do take seriously the tragedy unfolding in our nation, if they do care for their own integrity as contending party who aspire to lead our nation and people, then they shud stop lying. It severely undercut whatever truth their cause have and make them the laughing stocks of concerned South Sudanese. In the past, the rebel leadership repudiated one of the blatant lies authored by Lul Ruai about Kenyi; Riek Machar should learn to control his foot soldiers because they are undercutting whatever cause he might be fighting for. It is called shooting oneself in the foot—-PaanLuel Wel’s fuming.
