June 26, 2015 (SSB) —  I have never seen any reason, which force most people to, reacts for arrival of Pagan Amum to Juba. He is the member of SPLM political Bureau as well as the rest who did not travel together him to Juba. It’s his disagreement with the president Kiir that forced him to leave the country, when they did not able to resolve their differences through peaceful dialogue. They have right to settle their differences with the president Kiir peacefully.

Pagan Amum and the rest have never formed their own political party for these 18 months; meanwhile they are still as members of SPLM party. They have right to settle their differences with the president Kiir so that the SPLM manifesto does not granted the chairman to remove the members of SPLM political Bureau, if they do not formed their own political party. SPLM political party is not belong to president kiir alone. All those politicians had contributed in the Movement for 21 years.

The only problem with in SPLM leaders is because they do not respect the SPLM manifesto, which is their political ideology. The president Kiir does not have right to own their rights. The SPLM Manifesto was written by Late Commander Majier Gai, but he was killed by Gen. Marial Chinuor in 1991. How could you believe us to live in peace if the SPLM leaders killed the person who formulated their manifesto? The story of this ruling party has taught us about who are they?

However, their past tells us more about them. This is all you need to know about Pagan Amum’s arrival to Juba. His aims is to resolve his differences with the president Kiir in political party not the government, but Arusha agreement states that, the president Kiir would step down in order for his Deputy to take over the ruling party.

Who is Pagan Amum?

It has been said that, being strong is when you keep struggling throughout difficulties and decided not to surrender yourself to your opponent. Did he mean to be with the president Kiir who arrested him and jailed him for false accusations? His past tells us about who is Pagan Amum? United States former Ambassador to United Nation John Bolton said that ”surrender is not an option”

He said this when he kept negotiating with Iranian politicians to handle the issue of nuclear weapons in Iran. Did he mean to surrender himself to the president Kiir? If so then, his option should be respected, whenever he decided to be with him in the country.

Years ago, on the peace process of CPA, Pagan Amum was arrested by Arab together with Yasir Arman. He was the first person who acted radical to threat Arab to implement peace agreement between North and South. In his political opinions, or his political life, I recall the quote of Arab politician who said that, the first person to be sacked out in the SPLM ruling party must be Pagan Amum.

The president Kiir rejects his loyalty to the ruling party, when they have disagreed in their political party. Their disagreement happened when the president refused what they term as ”transformation of SPLM leadership in the party” people believed that, he is not the man of peace as well as the people are watching him as the man who looking for his self interests in the country. But he thinks, he knows what he is doing at the moment.

His speech when he was released in jail still in our minds.

Pagan Amum with other detainee agreed in jail before they were released that they could remain neutral in this civil war to bring the peace to the people of South Sudan. Here is what he said when he was released in jail by the president Kiir. “Killings of the Nuer could not be used as tool to fight the government”.

He did not realized that, Nuer have been fighting with the government because their relatives killed by the president, which is different from their disagreement with in political party.

A killing of Nuer tribe is not clear even today because they are not the members of the SPLM political party. We must try to know what killed citizens before permanent peace achieved in the country.

The current politicians used it as tool to get an advantage of their opponents but they need to know that, their political opinions have harmed the citizens for a long times. Let us cooperated to remove the habits of killings each other and established justice in the country. And peace be with us in the country sooner than later.
