Twic East Community Embroiled in a Fight over a Dry Bone

November 16, 2015 (SSB) — I have been reading through the amoral views of both sympathizers and those who oppose Hon. Deng Dau; some Twic East individuals have failed to notice the waning tune of the 28 states’ music.
If you compare the mood immediately one day after the presidential decree and now there is a serious worry on whether the decree will hold up to its expectations or not. Let’s not forget that many things were said only to be reversed later, whether because of pressure or lack of consultation it doesn’t matter.
In dinka culture we don’t buy clothes, basins, oils, and sweaters for unborn babies. Just because we may not know the fate of the unborn baby; I thought my Jieng brothers and sisters would have learnt from that culture.
Never the less the swinging caretaker governor of Jonglei state Mr. John Koang Nyuon whose fate is yet to be determined by the decree gave a very sincere advice. “Don’t dance too much or you will break your legs when it’s still unsure whether it will work or not”. We call it jealousy isn’t it?
We should not let ourselves to be driven by emotions, because if carried away by emotions it will leave us with a mark that will remain in history. That is why you see us saying that women are very weak, because when they love it turns on their emotions and they tend to believe that they are with an angel.
Our love for Hon. Deng Dau and Col. Philip Aguer should not deafen our ears and blind our eyes.
Because after all we were given a bone to fight for; I may not be very sure that this decree will not work but there are high chances that it may not work and if at all it works there are going to be adjustments.
I am seeing the two groups accusing each other, the first accused of sympathizing with Hon. Deng Dau and the second group supporting Philip Aguer!
My question to both parties is that, are you the ones who are going to endorse the decree? Or do you know what may happen ahead of us in regards to the decree?
We must apprise ourselves on how we can move forward or else we are losing vision. Those who climb to success, do it because they fight only one war! That is their goal; anything along the way is ignored. But if you fight other wars on your way to achieve your goal then you end up losing terribly; because the wars you encounter along the way will detract your attention from fighting for the goal.
We should learn how to verify information before talking confidently about it. Hon. Deng Dau is accused of calling the community “rebels”. Who will verify that allegation among you?
However, the person who was writing minutes was accused of being a staunch supporter of Philip Aguer, did that affect the election? Was he the one counting the votes? What is the evidence that his link to Col. Philip Aguer might have affected the process in one way or the other?
We want to talk like Akol Kuol who was asking that if this cow was not white which name would have been given to it? Yet he knows that the cow is white and still asked which name would have been given if it was not white in color. We must refrain from barmy charms that can affect our community as a whole.
There is nothing wrong with Deng Dau as our MP as well as Philip Aguer; they are all our sons hence if we decide that Hon. Deng Dau remains in the parliament while Philip Aguer waits for the bone to materialize then it is okay. We should not catch feelings over that!
We were the ones who voted unanimously for Hon. Deng Dau to represent us in the parliament and we have the right to keep him in the National Legislative Assembly.
That is our constitutional right and a good leader will always respect his people’s decision whatsoever the case.
