March 10, 2012 (BOR) – Jonglei State’s Akobo commissioner says between 500 and 800 are missing some of them feared dead following Friday’s dawn attack on Nuer’s cattle camps and villages by armed Murle tribesmen.

Jan 20, 2012:  A new report from the ground confirms that the death toll has increased to 83 people in Duk Padiet payam of Duk County in Jonglei State after the attack by alleged Murle armed youth and deserted military persons on Monday.

Jan 17, 2012: Armed Murle gunmen stormed the village of Duk Padiet in northern Jonglei late Monday,  killing at least 51 Dinka people, with most of those killed “women, children and the elderly” in the latest ethnic clashes in South Sudan’s troubled Jonglei state, the region’s governor Manyang told AFP on Tuesday.

Jan 13, 2012: At least 55 are reported dead, 52 injured and 40 children abducted in Wek and Patuet payams [districts] following a retaliatory attack launched by youth of the Murle ethnic group against Lou-Nuer on Wednesday, according to local MP Moses Gatkuoth. Murle Attackers included defectors from the South Sudanese army, the Sudan People’s Liberation Army(SPLA)

Jan 14, 2012: Murle’s attack on Wec Deang (God City) on January, 14, 2012 in which 15 women and children were killed and 4,000 heads of cattle stolen; prompting prophet Ngundeng  grandson to declare: “All Nuer must fight Murle”
