The Brothers are better off adopting the Turkish Islamists’ tactic of wearing down the army through time, systematic infiltrations and then finally taking over it. That call for patience and another gruelling decade though, something the Brothers may not contemplate, having waited for over 80 years for this day.
But the Brothers gotta be reminded that there are other bitter guys besides them: the liberal youth who initiated and spearheaded the Tahrir Square Revolution. They have gained nothing and have nothing to wait for, even for the next century! The wave of political Islam unleashed by the Arab Spring in the MENA countries is only warming up; gonna last for the next century or so.
While it is legit and democratic for the Brothers to demand what surely belong to them—real power, it is not the case that they are, or will somehow be, better than either the Mubarak regime or the current SCAF-led transitional WHATEVER. As Shimon Peres, the Israeli President, rightly pointed out, the Brothers have been praying for too much and too long and it is high time they stop praying and start REAL work. There is no record of Allah providing much-needed bread and social amenities in any Islamic country, not even in Mecca. Only mortals do and only mortals will continue to do that, God Delusion aside!
The gods of the sky have never delivered any country from its earthly woes; otherwise, Iran–one led by Allah incarnate–would have been the envy of the world. Instead, Great Satan (the US) and the Little Monster (Israel) fare much better than the heavenly-guided nation of Iran.
The Earth belongs to Earth and Heaven to Heaven; blessed irrationality commences the moment someone combines the two into one!! Yes, Mortals Can; The Truth We Believe In!!
