An Open letter to Uncle Adwok Nyaba

By Mangong Mawien Madut, Kampala, Uganda.

I have to call you Uncle since  it is an Africa culture. It is also taught in community. We are told to respect each other, fathers, mothers,  Uncles, an elders or  someone elsewhere .An  exchanging of words or replying your article is not dishonesty to you.  I will be  still in postion to give a kind of respect and see you as  an elder and intellectual.Uncle Adwok,  I have been reading your articles from online websites. Most of articles contributes to uncoagulatable hatred,  tribalism and sectarianism.  I do wonder and ask myself why  the former South Sudanese education minister at the national level Dr. Adwok  writes tribalistically?
Why his articles are consisted with tribal affiliations and empty animosity against one tribe called Muonyjang/ Dinka, but no wonder since South Sudan
is a  nation that doctors the so- called PhD holders only encourages  tribalism and hatred. Adwok is not too far from such people.I lost contol to the article wrote by you Dr. Adwok and published on SouthSudannation.com  on line website one date 25(01) 2014  ,
An article was  titled the Political Significance of Cessation of Hostilities Agreement.  I will not narrate or elucidate  what was all written in the article but only pick out some statements said by Adwok.

Indeed, Adwok,  the massacra  in Juba againt the Nuer  innocent  civilians done by culprits is undeniable, painful to South Sudanese people generally not only Nuer as a tribe or the people [Nuer] who lost their relatives in Juba. Many  South Sudanese from different tribes including Dinka have expressed their dissatifications  on what happened against Nuer  people in Juba.

It was unexpected that we South Sudanese can turn against each other. many people dosn’t wish such incidents  but the question is,  why you [Adwok]  dwells,  talks and writes  only about the Nuer massacra in Juba and  blindly forget the killing of  Jiengcivilians in Bentiu, Akobo, and Bor?

Uncle, have you ever one day surely discuss about the Dinka people killed in Bor church and young women rapped?   how do you see generally the Killing of Dinka civilians in above mentioned towns? are their  relatives doesn’t deserve also  to be given sympathy as you did it Nuer people?

Adwok, you might have  right to give condolences to one side  and call for  justice but how did you forgot that,  people killed in other side are  also South Sudanese as you sometimes write about your insincere and  false unity of people in our Country? which unity do you call when you hate muonyjang [ Dinka] or you meant other South Sudanese unity without Dinka?

How do you want to convince people to make unity when you still steadily believes in tribalism or how do  you called when an individual like you who hate the whole tribe for nothing rather then few people competing with you  in the government?

Back to Adwok ‘s tribalistics words.

Uncle Adwok wrote,  SPLM adopted archai ideology, which promoted Dinka dominance and hegemony in all aspects of social, economic and political  life of the country. He continues, promoting ethinic ideology  in the modern state constitutes a serious crimes contradiction and this explains the SPLM failure to build accountable  instruments of governance since 2005.

If someone may politely urge Adwok to clearly tell us how  did Dinka dominated the government? those who keeps preaching the domination by one tribe would have structurally make it understandable to the people.

What we know  from SPLM is that,  it has adopted the policy of decentralized symstem of governances which has resulted into establishment of ten States in the country. The ruling party  SPLM also has made  it since,  the governance concept of tribes representations which Shilluk are included in representation

Uncle Adwok,  where is domination  of government by Dinka while you were a mininster of higher education in the government of South Sudan? where is domination here when a former vice president  Dr. Riak Machar was a Nuer not a Dinka, the current vice President James Wani is a Buri, the former defence minister John Koang was a Nuer, the former minister of interior magayai was not a Dinka, security former minister Oyai Deng Ajak is a Shilluk, Pagan Amum who was a secretrary general of the ruling party SPLM is a Shilluk, Mamur who is  a current minister of security is not a Dinka, the foreign affairs minister Dr. Marial is a Nuer, the Cabinent minister now is not a Dinka.

the list is endless and there is  no  need to mention the names of non Dinkas holdings independent ministerial positions in the  government since you knew them but doesn’t want to be conveying the realities to nation for the reason you know.

Dinka domination and hegemony in South Sudan is a pure propaganda
.

People like  you Adwok and others wants  to feed the whole nation with lies just because of  tribalistic antipathy. Creating largely hatred against Dinka  because president Salva  Kiir comes from Dinka is unhelpful and divisive. As we look at the government of South Sudan, it is believable  all ethnic groups  are represented by the ministers  in national government in Juba.

The appointment of ministers represents all ten states where more then 60 tribes resides.

Dr. Adwok said, President Salva Kiir’s leadership of South Sudan conditioned by the menagerie politics of Dinka Rek animals of Gogrial and Awiel (Awan, Agwok, Apuk and Kuach) was bound to generate serious problems. The current civil strife is a proof that this leadership has a narrow base and therefore cannot meet the aspiration of all the people of South Sudan.
Statements wrote by an elder, where on this world that an elders are not peace makers, call for unity, ends hatred and segregation but Adwok ‘s role as an elder  and educated is doubt. only he  incites the division of people as it appears  and we do read from his writings?
Dr. Adwok ,   Within  Jieng there are poor people.
The Juba government which you [Adwok] worked with including other Jieng didn’t benefited  the whole Muonyjang. you  voluntarly make the research in an areas  you politically and tribalistical mentioned in your article. Areas of Greater Gogrial which are Aguok, Apuk, Kuach, Twic and  Awan then go to Greater to  Tonj , Awiel, Rumbek  which are mainly inhabited by  Dinkas. There are poor people you will find having no what to eat leave alone being riched. some have never tasted the money of your Juba government.
So there is no reason to generalise the economics and political dominant by Jieng/Dinkas.
Majority of them  innoent civilians gets and listens  only to your colleagues [politicians] during political rallies, when they  [politicians] needs  poor people to vote for them during elections.your selfish and self- made politicians comes to talk and cheat  civilians promised them when  they are the ones  who needs  support. Their children will forever remains illiterates because  where will they  be sending  their children for studies since you are one of the former  education ministers who utterly failed to do even establish  a single institution in the country? So there is no reason to generalise the economic and political dominant by Jieng/Dinkas.What have you done when education ministerial  position was given to you?
In your writings you don’t end your words without  putting in a failure of government which you were included. instead for you to say we are /were corrupt and failed politician. you keeping saying Kiir ‘s government is failed, have no vision and mission. Kiir himself tried to give you ministrial post and you  failed to implement unseen vision of yours. you only  blame Kiir  Mayardit  and leave your known failures in the government

During your term you absolutely destroyed education in South Sudan.
Instead to request the government to release a budge to your ministery in order to faciliate your programms and establish education in our country, you refused and failed,  ending up closing down  more than 22 private Universities and telling us uncovered lies claiming they didn’t meet the requirements. continues saying you need quality education not quantity.  where do people starts with quality education?  In regard, what was  behind your decision of closing down the Universities was a political Sabotages  against Salva Kiir  ‘s government it  was not that few of  the schools were not providing a quality education to the students.
