There is no feud between Dinka Bor and Dinka Twic

Dinka Bor and DinkaTwic are the clans of Dinka tribe in Jonglei state. They were once called Dinka Bor. when they were under Bor district in colonial time. In new decentralization, Bor district was divided into three counties, Twic East, Bor and Duk, automatically those in Twic East became Dinka Twic, those who remained in Bor, retained the Dinka Bor name. Those in Duk became Dinka Hol and Dinka Nyarweng respectively; There was no feud between Bor and Twic in past… There is no feud between them now. There will be no feud in future

However; the relationship between the two clan was poisoned theoretically when the news of Martin Majier broke in 1994. Majier died in SPLA prisons. Bor, because of disinformation and misinformation blamed Twic, due to John Garang, the head of SPLA who come from Twic. Bor were angry but, there was no confrontation between Bor and Twic about Majier. Though Bor blame Twic, they knew very well that Twic clan was not, directly, morally responsible for Majier’s death. John Gerang and his SPLA/M were directly, morally responsible. , SPLA/M was a govt and public authority at the time and powers of society including Palek ,where Majier come , were conferred to John Gerang and his SPLA , therefore Palek or Bor has no capacity to ask. So Palek mourned their Majier and the story ended there in 1994.

Secondly, the relationship between the two clans was poisoned theoretically, when Twic came publically saying, we are no longer Dinka Bor but Dinka Twic , some small head Bor reacted angrily. They later convinced themselves that Twic have natural right to give them whatever name they choose .in short Twic officially became DINKA TWIC

Thirdly, the relationship was poisoned theoretically when Salva Kiir appointed three ministers from Bor and no one from Twic County.

Fourthly, the relationship was poisoned when Majak Agoot was arrested. Twic because of disinformation and misinformation blame Bor ministers for his arrest.

In all four cases, there was no fight or confrontation between Twic and Bor. This why I say the relationship was poisoned theoretically but not practically because Bor and Twic are one people, a brothers and sisters. They love one another despite these minor differences.

Recently, some individuals who don’t want Bor and Twic to live together start to write hate and inciting articles. These guys are both from Twic and Bor, They are

1. Philip Thon Aleu “dancing on the graves the supporters of the released politicians.”

2. Daidit Maa, “Ill wishers should shut up or go to hell’’.

3 .Malith Alier “Dr.Majak, wealthy, clever but naïve’’.

These men , Thon, Daidit and Malith and others who support these ideas are learned and the best minds of Bor and Twic , but I will describe them in the manner the American poet Allen Ginsberg describe the American Universities students who were violent, criminals and homosexuals in the 1960 in poem ‘’Howl’’, The quote is

‘’ I saw the best minds of my generation destroyed

By starving hysterical naked.

What sphinx of cement and aluminum,

Bashed open their skull and ate up their brains and imagination

Moloch! Solitude ! filth ! Ugliness

Moloch! The incomprehensible prison…..’’

I saw the best minds of my generation, Thon Aleu, Daidit Maa, Malith Alier destroyed by madness, starving hysterical naked. What sphinx of cement and aluminum bashed open their skulls and ate up the brains and imagination by writing filth , ugliness about the great Bor and Twic communities,. Why do you create hatred , hopless, forlorn, frustration and agony among the great Bor and Twic?

You Thon Aleu! What is wrong with celebration of Majak Agoot’s release? Majak was arrested without your knowledge   and was released without your knowledge too, traditionally; when some body died in Bor no one shave hair in Twic and when someone died in Twic, the same. .don’t say people should not celebrate, because so and so are dead… Don’t let your jealousy of another people’s achievement lose you. Mind your own business. If you I put you on talk show with Daidit , you will get 10% and Daidit will get 90% because your argument is invalid .,you have no words to reply the words of Daidit , he has out –witted you in reasons and facts.

You Malith Alier! What is wrong with Majak’s project, it’s his own ambition. Majak started his own ambition of becoming what he wants to be without you and will succeed without you and your pejoratives; He is naïve but will get experience as he goes along the path of leadership. Stop it . you should not decampaign Majak. You should not criticize him, he is not in power right now, and he is contemplating on what to do, after he falls from a ladder.

You Daidit Maa!

You claim Bor says “majak abi nhom a Majier”   who says this ? This is not true, no one has ever thought of this. I remember the words of Palek elder in Mugali Displaced Camp in 1994, he said “

We will not avenge Majier on Aulian lineage or Twic people   because Aulian or Twic didn’t come to Palek village and kill Majier. Majier was killed by the SPLA under the leadership of John Garang. Garang did not use Aulian power but the SPLA power. If it were Aulian or Twic who came and killed Majier in Anyidi, we have the right to attack them and avenge Majier. . If anyone wants to avenge Majier it is not we, it is young one in such a way, they can study and become leaders like John Garang and rule over Twic as Garang rules us’’

In fact Twic sometime provoke the situation in dances, playing cards clubs, drinking bars, .and other gathering places by claiming they were the one who killed Majier. It happened in Buomeri Displaced Camp in 2003 Christmas. .this is not true .Twic did not kill Majier, but it is just use by individual , not all Twic as blackmail. , for your information, you Daidit , Majier’s case was concluded in 1994.

To prove that to you, recently one man told those who still talk about Majier that “strike the iron while it’s still hot” Majier case was hot in 1994. What did you do? What can you do now? John Garang is dead whom you blame, even if John Garang was still there you can do nothing becase he will use the same power he use by then’’.

Majier case was political case like Majak’s case; Bor could not intervene like Twic could not intervene in Majak case until he was released. Twic as a community did not intervene in release of Majak. Majak was arrested by the government and released by the government. The community had nothing to do in political issues .

You lost boys “The Greater Twic Youth in USA ‘’ you are the very people whose British poet Alexander Pope describe, he wrote

“A little knowledge is a dangerous thing,

Drink deep or taste not the Pierian Spring”

You are the students of little learning how come you go to civilized world like America and you repeat the mistake of Hutu tribe in Rwanda in 1993. Hutu tribe in 1993 published Ten Commandment, one of those laws was “Any Hutu who marries a Tutsi is a traitor”

In 1994, Hutus based on their Ten Commandments killed 800,000 Tutsi in what is known as Rwanda 1994 genocide.

You Twic youth in USA in your recent press release you said “marriage between Twic and Bor is in questions” that is Hutu thought.

Bor and Twic have differences but never fight. And will never fight.

Adhiok and Kongor fought and four Adhiok were killed by Kongor and the marriage between Adhiok and Kongor was not called in to question

Angakuei and Pathuyith fought and more than 40 people were killed and the marriage between them was not called into question?

Bor and twic never fought in the past, have not fought now and will never fight in future, why the marriage, friendship between them is is called in to question

Those who wish Bor and Twic to fight will be surprised to see their Youth dancing, wrestling togetherin PEACE

1 the saying goes ’’ it is easy to bring somebody out of the village but difficult to bring village out of somebody’’ these guys may appear learned but the village is still in them or their instinct. . How can they write anti clan sentiment as if they were in   cattle camps .there, one clan sing mock against another clan and other reply it with mock song too? What is the difference between them those in youth in the village and cattle camp? The difference is both know nothing .

2 these guys, what they write don’t represent the clans they belong, it is their own opinion, no one has authorized them to speak on behalf of their communities. Even MPs like Deng Dau and Makuei Lueth who represent the clan cannot absolutely talk on behalf of the clan because they are human beings, and human can err

3 they are ‘’diaar ke noon’’, the weak women who could not travel to cut grass in the forest, quarrel over few tuft of grasses between the homes. How can you tarnish the image of your small clans before the nation by quarrelling over trash ? Write nationally, talk nationally, and think nationally.
