What Does the Arrival of Yau-Yau in Juba Portend for South Sudan?

Renegade leader, David Yau-Yau, Arrives in Juba

Dear Reader,

David Yau Yau (third from left) with Akok Lual (second from left) and Bishop Paride Taban

We are on the same page given the unconfirmed rumors that David Yau Yau,the Cobra leader is due to arrive in Juba on Tuesday May 19 2014 or should I see doctor, in case I may be hearing voices!

If its true that David yau Yau and his group are given the region of Greater Pibor as a state, then I must say with out hesitation that president Kiir useless amnesty has become as cheap as that of a prostitute without value or respect. Our tactless president has lost touch with reality and moral conducts.

President Kiir administration has been tampering with Dinka Bor civilians since South Sudan gain her independence. For example, during the “failed-disarmament” implementation of the civil population, Only the Dinka of Jonglei were disarmed at the directives of president Kiir and Dinka foes remained armed to teeth. There is no explanations or reasons why double-standard policy was used on Dinka people up-to-date.

Indeed, there is no any greater insult than awarding David Yau Yau a state and heroic welcoming to our capital city, Juba. Remember, it wasn’t long ago when our heroes( Pagan, Majak, Lol and Oyai) were treated like crabs and defamed nationally as criminals and coup plotters, threatened for treason charges, crimes they have not committed.

well, lets take the rumor at face value and treat it as a sad fact of which we don’t have an option or capacity to reverse it, as long we are forced to unwillingly embrace. Home-coming of David Yau Yau would likely sparks mixed reactions among South Sudan citizens along the line of who is mostly affected and directly affected by Cobra militia raids and attacks on civilian population.

Naturally, truth may be one but it always has several dimensions at which individuals dissent, agree and concur. This is reality and phenomenon educated folks must grapple with and must cope with, no matter how David Yau Yau militia brutalities frustrated civilian lives in Jonglei State, the position and intentions of our government on this matter needs an explanations or else it will remained in question indefinitely.

Rushing to demonize Kiir administration’s unintelligible agreement with Cobra leader is unwise and bounded to fail. Amnesty without preconditions will be a long term disaster for the nation. This appears as the work of Junti-Wathon advisors (agents) to cripple South Sudan one more time.
