The Red Army Foundation would like to announce to all its members and the general public that on 29th July, 2014, the 2nd Anniversary of the Red Army Foundation shall be commemorated. This important event is scheduled to take place at Freedom Hall, starting from 8:00am and the Chief Guest shall be H.E. Gen. Salva Kiir Mayardit, the President of the Republic of South Sudan and Patron of the Red Army Foundation.

The Red Army Foundation was officially registered on 24th September, 2012 as a National Patriotic Organization with the main objectives of preserving the Red Army Legacy of patriotism and dedication to the nation, and instilling the same spirit of patriotism among the contemporary generation of young people today, while bringing together the members of the Red Army under one umbrella, to serve and empower them, advocate for their recognition and promote their active participation in the nation building process, in light of their historical contribution to the SPLM/A liberation struggle for freedom, dignity and the wellbeing of the people of South Sudan.

At this occasion, the Red Army Foundation shall officially launch the formation of the Red Army Patriotic Corps, which is the wing of the Red Army Foundation that has been specifically established to spearhead the cause of patriotism and dedication to the nation, because we believe that all citizens should love their country and have a duty and responsibility to willfully serve their country and one another, in the spirit of community and national service, as we work together to develop and safeguard our nation, as one people, united in diversity and peacefully coexisting together.

The Red Army Foundation shall also launch the establishment of the Red Army Memorial Education Trust (RAMET), which is a body under the Red Army Foundation that is particularly established to promote Educational Development and Educational Excellence on behalf of the Red Army Foundation, in accordance with the values of the Red Army, right from the days of the liberation struggle, when attending school at Red Army camps was compulsory and educational excellence paramount, under the guardianship of the SPLM/A, and consequently, some Red Army members received opportunities to study abroad and many have continued in the same spirit of Educational Excellence, to attain advanced academic qualifications.

We therefore take this opportunity to cordially invite all Red Army members, former Red Army commanders, camp managers, caretakers, teachers, former Red Army leaders, well-wishers and the general public to come and attend this joyous and momentous occasion.

We would also like to inform the Red Army that membership registration is currently ongoing and a free Red Army T-Shirt and Cap being given to each registered member.
