Is there any culture better than other cultures on this world? (3-4)

July 23, 2015 (SSB) —- I’m with my fellow South Sudanese, we need to maintain our cultures’ dignities, by acting as a people who have known civilization but make sure your culture is the civilization, which you have gain. We need to take away dangerous things in our cultures and keep what is not affecting us. Chinese had still maintain their cultures, they even have Chinese cultural day, England and many western countries kept secrets in their cultures, but they are more advances than us South Sudanese, I don’t know why are we ignoring ourselves, we run away from our cultures, we see them as if they are bad.
In South Sudan the most respective communities in term of culture are the worst of all today, they are distancing from their culture, where are you going people? A person without culture is the useless of all! You will not be honor or recognize as the real person of certain country within certain continent in the world.
If South Sudanese are to be serious with their cultures (Walai) we shall lead this world through our beautiful culture, we can attract many people to tour our country and I think we should be world championship if there are competitions that are carried out across the continents through cultural competitions.
We are God loving people by enriching us with our natural resources and cultures, but we ourselves are destroying them through adaptation of the new norms or cultures.
The reason why our grandfathers fought colonizers were to maintain their cultures, the reason we fought Arab was denying of our cultures and install Arabs culture instead, we were fighting to gain our freedom in order to keep our cultures, but now a day my dear South Sudanese, Arabs culture was better than the new western culture we are replacing instead of our original or God giving cultures.
The cultures where we are not able to respect the old people, our elders, the new culture where everybody thinks their norms are the bad one, the new culture where everybody cross the red borders. Thinking that what is practiced in USA, in Europe should be practiced here in South Sudan, (Ya jama,a) we shall never ever be Americans or Britain’s in South Sudan, we will remain South Sudanese ( Junubiin) until Jesus Christ came back again.
We have a problem of grabbing other cultures especially western cultures, engulfing it properly and transporting it to South Sudan without analysis. I only appreciated the education that we have gain from Western but I don’t encourage their cultures that we have replaced our original cultures now a day.
Government of South Sudan should have really be serious on the laws that they have wrote, because law of the country came from grassroots level, laws are wrote in accordance to the customary laws that were existing. According to the transitional constitution of the republic of South Sudan, it’s talks about marriage and culture.
Article (15.) Every person of marriageable age shall have the right to marry a person of the opposite sex and to found a family according to their respective family laws, and no marriage shall be entered into without the free and full consent of the man and woman intending to marry.
Article (33) Ethnic and cultural communities shall have the right to freely enjoy and develop their particular cultures.
Members of such communities shall have the right to practice their beliefs, use their languages, observe their religions and raise their children within the context of their respective cultures and customs in accordance with this Constitution and law.
