Years of my birth

Marred by civil war

My growth thwarted

Denied legitimacy

With divide-and-rule tactics

Inherited from the colonial era

Identity and ideology

Arab nationalism

And political Islamism

Resulting to undergrowth,

Exclusion and violence

That made me a dwarf

I could not accept being bread basket

To win my own death

Now am tough

Because I have been rough

With a lot of sweat

In order to get sweet sweat

Should I continue being rough

So that I am crashed?
