South Sudan Rebels: Nuer White Army Fighters

January 19, 2016 (SSB)  —  As a concerned youth, many College and University graduates are unemployed. They are now roaming about in the Ministries complex seeking for jobs. They have filled the tea places discussing politics because they have nothing to do. They blame the government for not employing them.

The government tells them that they better go and work in the private sector. This is absolutely right. We did not go to schools or universities to do white collar jobs or be employed by the government. Many youths have joined rebellions out of frustration and for them to get protection. This is not a solution in any way. We should do menial jobs also to earn a living.

The reasons these young graduates give is that there is a nepotism and favouritism in the government. You must have a relative high up to get a job. I encourage the youth to do manual works and create jobs to eradicate redundancy and too much engagements in politics. Education in the first World is part of the culture.

It is not necessary meant for getting employment but knowledge and mental empowerment to guide you in your everyday life activities including what you can do. I want to advise the government to promote as a matter of policy technical and technological education. These art colleges have produced enough politicians who now cling onto power. Now it is time to produce technicians.

The youths should not lean on and line up behind politicians who mentor us for selfish motives. We must make ourselves independent. These politicians do not want to step down. When we say they outlived their terms, we are committing a crime before God.

They are now the commissioners, ministers and Governors. Others are members of parliament. Let us create self-reliant projects and leave our politicians to practise their politics for as long as they breathe. There is nothing wrong for a graduate of whatever college learning to be a carpenter or welder.

After all, the intention is to make both ends meet and to sustain life. Now a watchman in the UN agencies receives more than the senior civil servants in the government. With the deteriorating economic situation, the highest salary for a super scale in the government is about 200USD$.

The the lowest is 20$ and the least is 15$.Job creation is the work of the youth because they are dynamic and energetic.
