Is Bor County really dominant over Twic East and Duk Counties?

March 3, 2016 (SSB)  —-  Dominant in ordinary English means most important, powerful or influential. A dominant person or group(s) commands, controls and exerts authority over others. Domination, which means prevailing over others, is assisted by several determinants such as population size, political power (elitism), military and Economic strengths. Naturally it is believed that the majority should always dominate. Every decision by the dominant is final and binding even if it is flawed.

In our present scenario as the people of Greater Bor what justifies dominant if it really exists? Is it the population size? Who is the majority? Or are we exercising elitism as neo-domination? These are extremely important questions if togetherness and forwardness of our new state is to be realized.

Is the population of Bor County undisputable? If so then why did we reject the 2008 census results nationally? If Bor Town is Cosmopolitan then it belongs to all of us since it is not a Payam or a Boma, it is not a determinant for dominant over other counties (Twic East and Duk)  .in my humble opinion I would implore chauvinists to reconsider their mindsets with regards to population as a determinant factor for domination. These are fictitious figures that were calculated by our archenemy, the Arabs, and all of us are true witnesses of our own failures during the time of the census.

For ages we have been a debating community, decisions are reached through consensus.it therefore surprises every single one of us when few people decide for the majority and continue to lecture about false determinants.

Yes Bor County has a larger population, this is an absolute fact.it can roughly be the entire Twic East population and half of Duk combined. Should this lead to Dominant? No. Something is ambiguously wrong and must be attended to urgently otherwise we are sowing disharmony, distrust and a culture of distortion of truth.

To dominate others is the desire of all mankind, it ranges from racial, religious and political motivations. Arabs were convincingly dominant over us because they had almost everything but their signature domination inclined towards religion. Eventually we had to separate from them.

Who can convince me or us that Bor County is the sole heir of the former Jonglei state piece of pie? Is there a concrete truth to justify political dominant?  No. It is and will remain a perfect negative.

Some states are more populous than others yet each is headed by one governor not two. Each county headed by a commissioner etc.  In representation politics there is no majority. Positions are given according to entities available. The entities in this case are our payams and bomas. Payams are represented equally even if others are more populated.

During the war of liberation, we fought equally the Arabs. Greater Bor contributed immensely towards the liberation of this country.it is therefore our duty to export fairness to the rest of South Sudan. We have this trait of being seen as influential people, it runs in our blood.

Dr. John was unquestionably right and factful when he asserted that a new Sudan will belong to all regardless of any conditions, he said nobody is anybody’s majority. All of us are a majorities by what we do to uplift our country.

Given all these facts and for the sake of our new State, let not cultivate any slightest form of marginalization within our midst.it is toxic, it is rude, it is cheap and does not meet our aspirations and those of generations to come.

Therefore the current attempt by elites to share parliamentary seats in 3:6:12 ratio for Duk, Twic East and Bor counties is completely out of touch with the current policy of representation, which is also the predisposing factor for the creation of 28 states.

The consensus by the public of greater Bor on this allotment of seats in the state assembly is safely 5:7:9. It is honest, representative and uniting.

Finally am giving tribute to Juet and other small communities. Juet are fierce fighters and never complain. They dominate during the war, they had brilliant commanders in the names of Anyar Apiu, Jok Reng and Deng-Wek. But after CPA, they became silent and reserved. These are the real liberators. People are being dominated now during the time of peace and they are not complaining. This is the true spirit of brotherhood.
