Dr. Barnabas Marial Benjamin: The sacrificial lamb that took away the sins of the government of South Sudan

March 27, 2016 (SSB) —- It is my unapologetic opinion that Dr. Barnabas Marial, the former South Sudan minister of foreign affairs and international cooperation is the most qualified, most dignified, most humble, most honest and most patriotic citizen of our country. This man has the substance of responsibility, accountability and honour.our country can function exceptionally well if we have leaders who have the country at heart like Dr.Marial. This is a fact that only a hell dweller can dispute!
Dr. Marial is a darling of many young people from across ethnic diversities. He has no ethnically inclined tendencies like our so-called patriotic politicians. He has a mind of natural truth and justice that favours everybody and exclude nobody. However, I am utterly disappointed by the recent political developments in our country. Some chauvinistic and arrogant people are trying to score a political point by painting our beloved and adorable man in dull colours.
It is because of this that I am obliged by my conscience to publicly protest the belittlement and victimization of such well respected political figure of our nation.
It is also natural that a human being may never live without committing an error, it is only the gravity and sensitivity of the committed error that matters.
How many ministers have made unforgivable utterances yet they escape the wrath of what we say is law?
Dr. Luka Biong was sacked from the University of Juba and asked to leave the country. Where would he go? Leaving his country to where? To Sudan, right? Who can tell us the name of a minister who gave Dr. Luka such ultimatum?
Those who asked him to go are the same people who are now busy rubbishing the name of Dr.Marial. This man has no grudge against anybody.
What did Dr.Marial do awfully wrong? If his only wrong was calling Dr. Luka Biong Deng a Sudanese national then this man has been treated unfairly and subjected to cruel negative publicity. We all know that we are Sudanese and that name is not offending by any sense of that word. Why can a simple compass direction cardinal point be so much more important that our real name? Am a Sudanese and so is Salva Kiir. Period.
Secretly the view of our government on the status of Abyei area has been nonexistence. What are they doing to solve this political puzzle? They secretly regard this region as a North Sudan enclave. This is the point Dr. Marial was conveying! He was showing us the double speak of our government. Now because has let the cat out of the bag he is being called names.
To the Abyei people, Dr Marial was alerting you on the hypocrisy of the government of South Sudan. This is actually a blessing to your cause. It is now your prerogative to stand together and demand answers from the SPLM government regarding your political status.
Dr. Marial has humbly accepted to carry the cross of the sin of his government. He is now being crucified with murderers like Dr. Machar. The government was caught unaware and that is why it trying to isolated this noble man.
My only message to our government is to repent sincerely and admit to the public that it failed the people of Abyei. It is the only way they can save their face. Dr.Marial has shown leadership and honesty. He has revealed the secret in the cabinet and therefore is a true son of the republic.
To those people who criticise for the sake of criticism, keep off this man. He is a man of integrity, purpose and logic. All of us don’t know the heart of our so-called leaders. He knows what he was saying and he accepts to wash away the sin of the cabinet of South Sudan.
Long live Dr. Marial.
