Happy Mothers’ Day to all mothers of Junub Thudan: Experiencing what our mothers go through every day to raise us

May 7, 2016 (SSB)  —-  I offended my wife and she insisted a million stories were not enough, I didn’t know what to do considering the crime I did though I inherited that gene which force me to do mistake from my grandfather Deng Anyuon, so I asked her to choose a punishment she considered satisfactory .

She said I should do all home chores for one week. I quickly agreed, that was the worst punishment I served in a living memory. Am yet to get worst punishment than that now that am in the forces.

If you think you have patience wait till your wife leaves you with two kids and goes shopping and gossiping with neighbor (woman) for hours, one hour seemed like one year.

Yelling and commanding fell on deaf ears; it was as if they kids conspired with their mother to raised their disturbance to power two. I couldn’t even pick my calls, Facebook update was no-go zone; crying was loud and persistent.

What of poo-pooing and peeing? And for someone easily disgusted I was so beaten and alarmed.

The house cleaning and plate washing were something else, I learned that one child can use 3 dresses or wears per day.

Preparing their meals was like Nile-pet and fuel in Juba.

Preparing ordinary pad was like university of juba’s graduation I keep postponing it for no reason or on the ground that am busy when in fact am in shock. I wasted a couple of dishfuls before I came close to getting it right.

Then, the feeding was like South Sudan electricity cooperation in juba where some times the parliament could not even sit, for every spoon each of them took, we had to run around for several minutes. I was so furious but they were laughing and playful.

By the second day, I was completely humbled and asked for amnesty. Processing the application was like South Sudan police doing crime investigation always late and slow but sometimes blame it on unknown gun man.

Approving the application was like National security service approving and giving permission for Dr Riek’s plane to land at Juba international airport.

In the end, to win a temporary amnesty. It took me SPLM tactics on South Sudan; i made so many promises without thinking of how to fulfill any. I just wanted to get off the punishments.

MOTHERS are something out of this world.

They’re so special.

THUMB UP TO MOTHERS OUT THERE

Happy mother’s day.
