Jonglei state rules out power sharing with SPLM-IO

By SSB Reporter, Bor, Jonglei State

May 17, 2016 (SSB) — The authorities in Jonglei state have ruled out power sharing with the Sudan People Liberation Movement in opposition as stipulated in power sharing provisions of the peace agreement signed to end the senseless war for 22 months.

The Political advisor to the governor Dr. Agot Alier Leek made the remarks during the celebration of the historical 33rd anniversary of the SPLA/SPLM 16 may that started in 1983. He describes the SPLM/IO representative to Jonglei state as croaks.

“We know that some elements got conscripted in the streets of Nairobi, Addis Ababa and the western world to be brought back as IO and we virtually know them as not IOs,” Dr. Agot told the gathering at Constitutional Square on 16 May.

“Crating IO is creating something that was not there, it is like this idea of trying to create military cantonment in equatorial and Bar El Ghazal when they know that there was no war fought in these areas so what are they trying to create,” He continued.

He said, the state government and its people rules out SPLM not because they are not for peace but wants to hold some responsible of carnage that happened in Bor.

“If we rule out SPLM power share does not mean that we are not for peace, we are for peace because is for the good of the republic of South Sudan except that the area we are was not part of that arrangement done outside being at Addis Ababa or any other foreign capital and anyone looking for a share has to come to us as a citizen and we shall forgive him.

He questioned the different being made when ministers left the government and are returning as ministers after devastation.

“What different does it makes you left as a minister and you want to come back and collect some elements in the streets of foreign capitals I think that does not work with our population here,” Agot continued. Anybody appearing to be imposing something on us will just appear as if he does not know what he is doing? He concluded.
