President Kiir appoints new lawmakers for the Jonglei state legislative assembly

June 27, 2016 (SSB) — The President of the Republic of South Sudan H.E Salva Kiir Mayardit has appointed eight new lawmakers into Jonglei state assembly on top of fourteen [14] parliamentarians from former Jonglei state legislative assembly to make a total of twenty two [22] lawmakers.

In the republican decree No. 278/2016 seen by the PaanLuel Wël [SSB] president Salva Kiir appointed eight new parliamentarians to Jonglei state Legislative assembly namely; Ambassador Charles Manyang Awuol, and Mrs. Mary Ayoom Deng both hailed from Duk County.

President Kiir also appointed Ajak Alier Jok, Philip Magot Nyok, Ajoh Gordon Kuol, Mrs. Anai Deng Makuei and Buol Lual Mayen both are from Bor County.

In the same decree President Kiir also appointed Michael Adoor Mabior, Helen Akec Marial Madit and Mr. Juach Makuei Juach from Twice East County.

President Salva Kiir also reappointed fourteen [14] lawmakers from former Jonglei state legislative assembly into new Jonglei state assembly those parliamentarians are Hon. Ezra Mayom Ngong Jo, Hon. Philip Thon Nyok, Hon. Maker Chol Adol, Hon. Alier Malet, Peter wal Athieu, Hon. Kuol Bol Ayom and Hon. Suzan Lith Aluong who is currently the state minister of Education, Gender, Child and Social Welfare both hail from Bor county.

President also reappointed Hon. John Amuor Kuol Ageer, Hon. Peter Deng Aguer and both are from Twice East County.

From Duk county president Kiir also reappointed Hon. Ruben Abiel Chan and Mrs. Rachel Athiak Ruei.

Moreover; president Kiir appointed new MPs after serious argument between three counties of Bor, Twice East and Duk disagree on numbers of Parliamentarians to each county; Duk County were given one MP,

Twice East with two MPs and Bor County with four MPs Duk county intellectual were not convinced.

In mid-February Duk County community wrote their complaint letter to the president of South Sudan Salva Kiir that resulted to the appointment of Twenty two [22] lawmakers.

However; republican decree did not clarify it up to when these newly appointed lawmakers should be in the state legislative assembly.
