June 27, 2016 (SSB) — The authorities in Twic East County of Jonglei State has restricted vehicles and motorcycles movement in the highway since it is rainy season.

Speaking to PaanLuel Wël website on a cell phone from Panyagor the Twic East county commissioner, Hon. Dau Akoi Jurkuch said that the laws or rules are been set to prevent damages of the road connecting Panyagor the headquarter and with its Payams to its border with Bor county.

“When the big truck moving on the main road linking Twice East county with the state capital Bor they will damage road then goods will not come to the county headquarters Panyagor and how will the people survive without commodities in the local market” he asked?

Jurkuch strongly warned the public to respects the laws or rules set by the county authority. Anyone who will violated the rules will be find with one thousands [1000] south Sudanese pounds, exception of the ones who are travelling from Bor County to Twic East adding.

He said this road is not tarmac it was just a solid that was put to prevent flooding during rainy season and when big trucks move when it rain it cause muddy and many vehicles will get stuck then goods and basic services will not reach us in the county.

Repairing this road is a bit problem when it get damage so when it rain you are order to park your vehicle or your motorcycle Dau Akoi explains.

Jurkuch said early March 2016 Twic East county community raise 210, 000 SSP for reconstruction of local roads.

The Twic east county community and it friends came together and raise some money for reconstruction of local roads and it’s our collectives responsibility to control vehicles when it rain.

The roads reconstruction was targeting road that connect Twic East with Bor County and road to Duk County said commissioner Dau Akoi. Jurkuch says; the rain season has approach now so we need to control the vehicles ourselves because last year we face a lot of challenges.

During rainy season the road always impossible to be access between Twic and Bor we don’t need this thing to happen, our commodities supply always come from Bor he said.

He says if we don’t minimize the movement of heavy trucks when its muddy vehicles will get stuck we cannot get the commodities from Bor town, the traders and the community will face a lot of challenges.

That why we make a plan to conduct the funds rising for all the citizens of Twic east who are residing in Bor town said Jurkuch.

Dau says last year they conduct the funds rising but the roads didn’t complete. The road that connects us with Bor its distance of 60 kilometers and then road connects us with Duk is 30 kilometers he added.

Dau says they don’t have a budget they defend on funds rising; we have no share or support somewhere that can complete our plan; it’s we ourselves to manage the road carefully.

Last year we estimate the amount of 5 million SSP to complete the reconstruction of the roads and we don’t have a market to get that amount of 5 million SSP he said.

He I have deploy the police that patrol the main road if anyone found violating the order will be find and jail.
