Initially, out of the seven new seats, Duk was given two, while Twic East and Bor counties got two and four respectively. Duk had rejected this, demanding at least three of seven new seats causing a lot of controversy across the state. Fortunately, the president of the republic compromise adding one law maker to Jonglei August house resolving the dispute which almost caused division among the people of Greater Bor.

According to 2008 census, which the assembly and the council of states are using as the basis of seat allocation, Bor county had a population of 221, 106, Twic East 85, 349 while Duk county had 65, 588.

Out of the eight new seats, Duk was given two, while Twic East and Bor counties got two and four respectively.

Philip Aguer administrations presumably prearranged nearly all of the executive powers to the communities who recommend their representative before they are being appointed to the branches of the government.

Jonglei state legislative assembly consists of 8 women law makers and 14 honorable gentlemen.
