Dear Editor,

July 26, 2016 (SSB) — The Editor in Chief of Juba Monitor, Mr. Alfred Taban is smiling in his cell after hearing the removal of one of the Compromise Peace Agreement (CPA) protagonists, Dr. Riek Machar from his position as First Vice President.

Alfred was thrown behind bars after publishing an Editorial demanding removal of Kiir and Riek from their positions because he was convinced the two men cannot work together anymore.

Now that Riek Machar is removed and replaced by his party from his position, it does not serve any purpose to continue detaining Alfred – his wish was partially fulfilled.

Remember this Kiswahili saying, “aliyejuu mgojia chini” translated; the one who was raised up coming down waits for him.

Alfred Taban
