Unionists versus Divisionists in Bor Community: let moderatists leave and form ''uniting association''

September 5, 2016 (SSB) — Bor Community is loose association of the three counties of the former Bor District namely Bor county, Twic East County and Duk County. It is a loose association because Bor Community is united and cooperative at one level and conflictual at another level. It is cooperative at elder’s level though some elders advocate unity in public but preach disunity and non-cooperation in private.
Bor Community is hypocritically united at elder’s level but is completely divided at youth level. There is no unity at youth level because of the name ‘’bor ‘’. The disagreement over the name ‘’bor’’ occurred in many places , it occurred in Renk , in Kampala ,Juba , USA etc .
Therefore, Bor Community should change it name to Jonglei Community. The name Bor should be relegated to the county level. The liberal minds should use ‘Jonglei ‘as unifying name at the state level and the conservative minds remain with Bor.
When Twic East County, Duk County and Bor County were created out of Bor proper in early 2000. The name bor came in question from Twic, Nyarweng and Hol who said, they were no longer Dinka Bor as it used to be but Dinka Twic, Dinka Nyarweng and Dinka Hol as per now.
After the creation of Twic East county and Duk County, some youth from Twic and Duk proposed that Bor Youth Association (AYA) should change its name to Greater Bor Youth Association. The proposal was rejected by Bor county youth. And in fact, the proposal was right because Bor was divided into three, which means the name should reflect three counties, this justifies the name Great Bor Youth Association.
The argument over the name bor has created the three camps , the unionist (egoists) camp, who want to maintain unity among the former Dinka Bor at the expense of other by imposing their name bor other people(Twic and Duk) and the divisionist (extremists ) camp who want the three people , bor , twic and duk cut all ties altogether and moderatist (altruists ) camp : the liberal minds who want the three people to have a common ground , to have neutral uniting name . There are these three camps in the three counties , there are unionists , divisionists and moderatists in Bor , in Twic and in Duk .alike .
Therefore , the moderate elders should leave Bor Community and form Jonglei Community (JC) the moderate youth should leave Bor Youth Association (AYA) and form Jonglei Youth Union (JYU) or Jonglei something… The moderate students should leave Bor Student Association and form Jonglei Student Association , This is for the obvious reasons (JSA) or Jonglei something . The three associations namely JC, JYU and JSA should be at state level and ,
The Greater Bor Youth Association, Bor community should be at the county level since Bor is divided into five counties in new 28 states. Great Bor should be a name that unite five counties created from Bor county.
The Greater Twic East Youth Association and Twic East Community should be at county level since Twic East is divided into three counties in 28 states Great Twic should be a name that unite the three counties created from Twic East County
The Greater Duk Youth Association should be at county level since Duk is divided into three counties in 28 states. Greater Duk or Duk or whatever Duk should be uniting name for three Duk counties .
The moderatists: the liberal minds should come out from the Bor, Twic and Duk, they should distance themselves from sectionist and clanist politic but look at the bigger picture from Jonglei state level , the intellectuals and the civilized people of Jonglei should see thing from philosophical point of view. In 20 years time when 70% of the population will be literates. No one will say ‘’ we Bor, we Twic or we Nyarwenng or we Hol’’.
Make no mistake, don’t misquote me, am not against Bor, Twic and Duk name, cultures but am against ignorance express in term of bor, twic and duk. Bor should keep its identity, culture and values as bor. Twic should keep its identity, culture and values as twic. Nyarweng /Hol should keep their identity, cultures and values as Nyarweng /Hol .
Jonglei state should keep it identity , culture and values above the identities , cultures and values of Bor , Twic , Hol and Nyarwenng period .
