Bor County Education Mock Examination Results released

September 16, 2016 (SSB) — Bor county Education department released the primary eight results for candidates who sat the mock examinations last month with male students performing better than the female students.
The deputy director of Bor County Education Department Gabriel Panchol Anyang congratulates the teachers for their unwavering commitments in a statement extended to Dawn News Paper.
“My thanks and congratulations go to all those teachers who have made a contribution to the success and achievements that will be celebrated by high performing school from today. I know without the hard work of dedicated teachers I would not be able to stand before the education community today and say well done to hundreds of young candidates,” Panchol said.
The county earnestly acknowledges the excellent performances of candidates of 2016 mock examinations describing it as measure of education growth. The seal of assurance is a very significant achievement for Bor County Department of Education and the Jonglei state ministry of education, gender child and social welfare.
All in all, this year’s results have downplayed the subjective critics of individuals who decried the standard of exam papers, questioned security measures, and doubted that a credible exam won’t be possible.
The mean score for public schools improved from 39% in 2015 to 58% in 2016 while private schools recorded an improvement from 43% in 2015 to 74% in 2016.
But unfortunately, the Mean score for boys dropped from 74% in 2015 to 72% in 2016 while the girls recorded an improvement from 46 in 2015 to 53 in 2016.
The performance of this year per subject recorded step up from 25% in English in 2015 to 56%, in 2016, mathematics pick up from 8%-57%, science revived from 43%-70%, SST dropped from 94%-78% and CRE is 79% this year of 2016
“The general performance according to gender; the number registered for 2016 county mock examination was 650 of which number of male students who sat was 493 of which 357 passed with 72 % while female candidates who sat were 135 with 72 passing at 53%” Bor County primary eight mock examinations for 2016 academic year shows that the enrolment and performance have improved compared to the previous year crippled by turmoil.
“The number of candidate who sat the examination last year was 470 in total; out of them 201 passed representing the percentage of 43%. And progressively we have improved from 43% in 2015 to 68% in 2016.
The poor performance in some government schools is being prompted by teachers’ absenteeism and low payment and delay of salaries and this poor performance in some public schools put head teachers of the schools concern on the spot, warning. The teacher absenteeism had become a serious problem that must be tackled immediately. In some Payams, absenteeism of teachers stood at 45 per cent and this has had a direct impact on performance of public schools in those Payams.
“I would want to remind all Payam education supervisors, head teachers and all teaching staff that promotions would no longer be based on how many years’ particular officials had stayed in one job group as is the usual practice in the public service. Promotion must be based on how each staff committed and performance,” Panchol further said.
