October 10, 2016 (SSB) —- With tears rolling down my cheeks, I am writing this piece in extension of my sincere belated condolences to the grieving Apadang community and other South Sudanese whose loved ones have fallen victims of waylayers.

Indeed, the death of innocent children, women and men is a disaster. However, the manner with which they were killed is humiliatingly inhumane.

It is upon this that I am sending my condolences to the community at large and to the families and close relatives of the deceased. The cowardly act of targeting people on ethnic lineage is disheartening, divisive and unacceptably unnationalistic. Just like you, I hate it.

The act had interfered with national cohesion and is letting us loose. It is evil, hate inducing and unwarranted. It is for this reason that I am strongly condemning it. It is an act of terror which has no room in our society and does not reflect Sudanic version of life.

The agony induced by the act and the vengeance it has attracted can possibly amount to protraction of hatred and shredding of the national cohesion. Therefore, the act is loathsome and must not escalate further.

The heartless actors who happened to be comfortably resting somewhere must know that they have attracted severe penalties from the creator of the innocent people they have murdered and despite that, it is incumbent upon the state to surge and take charge of the situation before it is out of hand.

The leadership of the country is duty-bound and must protect every individual regardless of his/her ethnic background for the good of our faltering state.

I hate vengeance and failure of the long arms of the law to grasp and hit hard the perpetrators of such terroristic acts is provocative indeed. There must be solution with immediate effect such that more deaths are prevented and perpetrators penalized even with death.

However, the hopeless state of the affair is unacceptably growing and it must be nabbed at the bud. Once again, condolences my people. Accept that the worst has happened and I pray to Almighty God that He rests the souls of innocent deceased in eternal peace.

May God bless South Sudan!
