October 13, 2016 (SSB) — “Violence never brings permanent solution. It solves no social problem: it merely creates new and more complicated ones.” Martin Luther King, Jr. South Sudanese especially the politicians are wrongly diagnosing the problem hailing the nation and that may keep complicating the solution to the problem as stated above in the Mighty words of Martin Luther King.

First, we heartily condole with those who loss their beloved ones in the two incidents of last week along Yei-Juba and Nimule-Juba road, and relatives of any other citizen that has loss its dear life in the same manner anywhere in the Country. Last week had been bathed and smeared with the blood of our chopped innocent civilians and that put the whole nation (except the killers) on the mourning mood.  We join the mourners by telling them to take heart and to still hold the love for the nation at this moment of trial. May the souls of the deceases rest in peace.

We are deeply touched by such act of terror, such a heartless and lumpan target killing is not akin to our values and cultures as South Sudanese, such act of killing and chopping women and innocent children is alien to our values. Any South Sudanese could not be killed in connection with the government because the president is from them, first vice president is from them, vice president is from them or any other politician is from them…be it Dinka, Nuer, Zande, Shilluk, Jie, Murle, and any person from any tribe could not be killed because a certain person is in power. We condemn such acts of inhumane and un-godly act with the highest voice we can.

With equal measure, we ask the victims to be calm in relation to what happened because we are under serious trials and temptations as a nation and that needs prayers than reaction because wrongful reaction will make you no different from such cowards who kill the innocent citizens.

Our message to the killers and the nation at large: remember, we killed ourselves as a nation in Juba in 2013, are we better now? We killed ourselves in Malakal, Bor, Bentiu and Fangak in 2013, are we better than before? We killed each other in Maridi and Keji-Keji, are we better than better after killing? We killed ourselves again in Juba in July 2016, are we better than before? We are maiming our innocent civilians and nationals today along Yei-Juba and Nimule-Juba road, are we made better by killings?

Youths should keep themselves away from this dubious interest of politicians. You are cheaply used by politicians without asking what the future holds for you! May the social media warriors pass this message: if the nation bleeds people bleed and government never bleed if indeed we are killing the innocent civilians for the government. There is no relative to the government but there are relatives to the people. Those involve in this heinous and barbaric act must stop once and for all. Forgive all of us God!
