First anniversary celebration of Gogrial State Community in Uganda

November 1, 2016 (SSB) — On date 30th 10 2016, Gogrial State Community in Uganda celebrated the first Anniversary of creation of their State. Gogrial State is one of the States created last year by the president Gen. Salva Kiir Mayardit as a respond to a popular demand across the country by the citizens. The celebration was highly attended by hundred of members from various states including the leaders from other states namely Gok state, Tonj State, Wau State, Twice state, Ruweng State and others respectively were invited.
Significantly, this celebration was attended by important public figures, Major Gen. Gregory Vasili who was guest of honor, Diplomat Philip Maluil Akoldit and Hon. Awien Bak. Certainly, the leadership of Gogrial state community in Uganda conducted this celebration as a kind of showing their happiness about the creation of their State Gogrial and other States as well famously 28 States. The rationale behind this is to tell the world that South Sudanese communities have not problem with 28 States.
Relatively, the number of people who had spoken in this celebration also condemned strongly the recent communal fighting between two communities Aguok and Apuk in Gogrial State. However, Mp from Gogrial state Hon. Awien Bak challenged and criticized an exaggeration of fighting; she said there is no true communal fighting. The criminals from both communities are the ones causing fear, rumors and killing civilians from both sides she added.
The youth representative Angok Ring Mathiang who is a student of Cavendish University Uganda emphasized that the youth of Gogrial State in Uganda are united. James Thiam Lual a chairperson of Gogrial State community in Uganda praised the first vice president Gen. Taban Deng Gai for working hard with the President Salva Kiir Mayardit to make sure the peace is restored in South Sudan.
Finally, Gen. Gregory stressed that there is much needed political and leadership will and ability curb the communal fighting happening at home. He also appreciated communities for being united in Uganda.
