The governor of Jonglei State Philip Aguer Panyang Jot said the 12,000 herd of cattle stolen from Jalle mid December will be returned to their rightful owners by force.

Governor Philip Aguer made the remarks while addressing the youth at St. Andrew Cathedral in a ceremony organized by youth ministry as thanks giving to God for the New Year 2017.

H.E. Philip assured the congregates that the government of Jonglei state and that of Boma state will join hands with support the Transitional government of national unity to recover the stolen cattle.

“If we follow our stolen cattle cows, God will not blame us but we shall get back whatever was taken away from us by force,” Governor Philip Aguer said. He did not elaborate more on when the campaign to return stole cattle shall begin.

In mid December 2016, the murle youth attacked Jalle Payam killing 17 people on spot and raided 12,000 herds of cattle.

Youth have appeal several to the community authorities and state government to take laws into their own hands and return their stolen cattle.
