Aguok Dinka community Chiefs' open letter to President Salva Kiir Mayardit

Akoon Madut Akech, Juba- South Sudan

April 11, 2017 (SSB) — That was the content of the letter alleged to have been written and signed by forty chiefs of Aguok in unclosed location and to the best of my knowledge nothing of the said meeting had taken place anywhere including Gogrial town and in Juba.

For the purposes of clarity, the letter was published by THE DAWN newspaper on Monday 3rd, of April 2017 page 4 to page 5 Vol.2 Issue 332 detailing the failures of Gogrial state Governor and his involvement in the conflict  between the two communities namely Aguok and Apuk. To my surprise the group acted under directives of someone giving wrong information about the Governor.

Aguok Community Association under Lodivico Lual had never call such a meeting to discuss cheap politics or discredit the Governor that the entire community had supported. Here am not trying to depend the government of Gogrial state nor am I depending the Governor himself but the letter said to have been written by the community of which Aguok chiefs had signed was not true, the signatures are fake and forged by the writers who were acting under influence of a known individual in the community and a non-supporter of our Governor from day one.

Some of these group members were either part of the last administration till they were relieved recently by the new administration in Gogrial state as a normal government policy to reshuffle cabinet in the state but  that does mean the Governor was favoring his community more than the other communities as it was adversely mention in their allege letter.

Shifting blames or anger displacement in such a situation is unwelcome when one fails in his duties then he starts looking for excuses of who to blame for his failures while having a chance to solved what he might have seen going wrong in the state during his tenure.

Creating a wedge between Aguok community and the Governor for the benefit of a few seem to have been a norm of many people in our community of which a number of people shouldn’t just sat and draft a letter on behalf of Aguok community in unknown location in order to seek media attention and as a way of bringing down the Governor who was recently appointed through presidential decree.

No meeting had taken place in Juba nor did Aguok community met to discuss such issues affecting Gogrial state, unless few individuals who are unhappy with the Governor might have done so such that he listens to their grievances which are related to state appointments.

General Deng Kuac is there to stay, and if there is anything that Aguok wanted to be addressed by the Governor then there are channels of communication to be followed and not just procedural ways as seen the other day on 3rd of April 2017.
