April 24, 2017 (SSB) — The office of the President today dismissed a number of rumors which were spread out on the social media and on Newspapers in some Countries, especially in Khartoum Arabic newspaper call Alwathan recently citing that President Kiir is planning to hand over power and that the army is planning to take over.
Ateny Wek Ateny, the President’s Press Secretary told the Press in Media briefing at state House Juba, Monday that the propaganda was done by Anti-Peace elements. Ateny Wek also described the recent report of United Nations panel of experts as bias against the Government of South Sudan. He added that the report does not differ with previous reports about South Sudan.

Mr. Ateny answering a question from a journalist said, the current security deployment on the streets is just a normal routine. On the economic, Mr. Ateny said the government is working hard to make sure the economy of the Country get back to normalcy. He also mentioned that the dollars was 20,000 South Sudanese pound few days ago, but today, it is 16,000 South Sudanese Pounds.
