MOUTHPIECE FOR PEACE

By G. Naih Peter, Torit, Imatong State

Abel ALier and Philip Aguer picture by Mach Samuel

I tried harder to sing

So loud for us,

But there are others

Than me whom words

They emit sting

And talk for brothers

Plus other strangers.

They shine bright

Both day and night,

They don’t wait for light

At the end of tunnel,

They are not pessimists

Either, but always optimists,

They illuminate as activists

In every tunnel or panel

Simply made like funnel.

They are our mouthpiece,

All better and stronger together

And speak less if not good peace.
