August 1, 2017 (SSB) — There are various reasons that undercut the achievement of the National Dialogue which was rigorously declared by the President of the Republic Salva Kiir Mayardit (1) The president himself is the centered on the ongoing conflict which led to loss of innocent civilians since the war started as claim attempted coup by the regime way back in mid-December 2013 and repeatedly in July 2016.

The so-called National Dialogue will not achieve its objectives simply because (2) The perpetrators of the ongoing conflicts are not yet brought to book so that they will be accountable for their owned crimes which they committed in the conflict in order for the citizen to witness and believed that there is justice in the country.

And therefore there will be room forgiveness among the citizens. (3) The hatred that is existing within the sixty-four tribes as a result of failure by the regime to bring people together is an obstacle for National Dialogue

(4) The national dialogue will only be achieved if the President Salva Kiir Mayardit reign today from his position as the president of this country, because there is nowhere on earth to glance at the chief perpetrator who is still in power, though in gender based violence it tells us that engaging perpetrators in the campaign in order to stop gender based violence is one of the best mechanism to mitigated it occurrence in the community.

But in this scenario, it seems to be more complex compared to what GBV researchers tell us. Personally, I am not against the national dialogue but the way it was presented and declared by the president was not realistic and not fully acknowledged by the other parties and the people of South Sudan generally.

Because the dialogue itself has many loopholes that need to be addressed in conjunction with other parties and that is why some member who was appointed by the president declined because there is no vision in the dialogue since it’s comprised of SPLM members and some of their fellows.

These committee members for national dialogue that were appointed earlier by his excellency the president with the main aims to embezzled  donors and taxes payers’ money which were meant for provision of services to the citizens of the country.( 5) The self-proclaimed Jieng Council of Elders who voluntarily elected themselves without the Knowledge of the Jieng communities generally.

This JCE is the main obstacles for peace and strength they have been misleading the president in a numerous of occasions and also neglecting the elders of other tribes involved in the politics of South Sudan simply because of their owned selfish interest in causing confusion and divisionism among the beloved tribes during Dr. John Garang era.

Here are some few questions:-How can it be achieved when the two warranting fractions are still fighting in some part of the country? Does it mean national dialogue will only be successful in government control areas?

If not what will be the scope of the national dialogue if some part of the country cannot be accessed by the committee members if I told they have started their consultations with the communities across the country?
