Five Deadly Sin that South Sudanese Should Never Go with in 2018

December 30, 2017 (SSB) — This year has been accompanied by daunts of stories that would leave anyone with nothing but shame, fear and tears. The year has been a year of shame, disgrace and worries unlike other years in the history.

Right from January, these are some of the things that I would wish; from the social perspectives, religious, political and the economic perspective respectively. The following deadly sin top my list of five things that should be buried as late as 31st December 2017, night:

Killing of Youth

We live in a myopic society that cares less about tomorrow but care about a clean spoon that feeds her today. The saying that goes ‘youths are the future of tomorrow: – ‘in our dictionary as South Sudanese, this saying has backfired and in fact, has washed away completely.

It has changed to the notion that ‘youth are the threats of our tomorrow.’  This is what really exists in the book of old men and women in furnished offices back in Juba.

We have lost more than enough youth this year than last year. Nimule-Juba highway, Bor – Juba Highway and Yei – Juba Road, all taking young lives.

Apart from that, young lives have been hunt down from door to door in Juba and imprisoning some of them whom the government feels has had mercies.

This must stop. I repeat, STOP IT!

Cheap Support of the Politicians Based on Strings Attached

This issue of supporting uncles and aunties or Zol Kebiir just because they help you pay schools fees pay your rent in Nairobi or Kampala or once helped you to get installed in a job should just remain with 2017. No corruption is coloured nor are there people who corrupt more than others.

Everyone in power – starting from pastor in charge at Emmanuel Parish to the top office in the country is doomed. Should anyone find a rat poison and has a chance to mix it with mulla kombo, s/he would end up poisoning even the gatekeeper.

The most stupid are you- their supporters who have the guts to threaten other people’s lives just because they don’t cite with your Lords.

If I criticize Dr. Riek Machar or Salva Kiir, I don’t care what else to lose by doing the same thing to Dr. Majak, Dr. Wani Igga or Lam Akol. All of them are birds of the same feathers and that’s why their social or financial status will never reconcile with mine as far as 2017 is the damn concern.

Should you carry on with this up to January next year, we’ll arrange on how to award you the accolade of the best idiot of the year.

Tribal Politics

I don’t know who lied to South Sudanese that politics pays the entire tribes. June this year, I wrote a Facebook status ‘Hate a weak leader, not the tribe. Never hate a country, hate a weak regime; and finally, never hate a school that you failed in, hate yourself because you refused to read and pass your exams promptly.’

This status was dedicated to them (the tribalists) who thinks all Dinkas washes their hands and dine together with President Salva Kiir and those who think Dr. Riek Machar is the man to fight along with just because he is from Nuer like you’re.

BIG FOOLS!!!! This is absolutely nothing. Choose whom to support because you see him/her as a theme of change in South Sudan.

Fake Dialogue

In this list is the National Dialogue. The likes of ARCIS, HLRF, JMEC, etc. all these programs should be offered a space on SSBC and viewed as entertainment shows since they are not working out.

Or should we take them to the gym to increase muscles? Your suggestions matters.

Fake Prophets

I’m not so religious but the little I have read about Old and New Testament did not mention about new prophets. South Sudan is in dire need of peace. Not a man of God like Bushiir will bring it.

Our leaders just need MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) to bring us back and save us from being robbed by international religious conmen in the name of spiritual feeding.

This is a blasphemy and needs to stop this year. Try your luck, good luck!

Have a prosperous new year, 2018.
