South Sudanese Students in Zimbabwe Appreciate Gov’t Resolution to Pay Fees

January 12, 2018 (SSB) — Every South Sudanese student was thrown in a tightly woven wave of disquietude when it was first aired out that all South Sudanese students studying in Zimbabwe would be taken back to South Sudan.
This came out after some students from National University of Science and Technology shut down the Embassy of the Republic of South Sudan in Harare. These students have been suffering in silence as there has never been anything given to them for their upkeep.
As time drifted by, there was uneasiness as some worrisome apprehensions of what was being discussed by the Council of Ministers, filled the air. Hearing such as going back after wasting a good number of three years without getting anything was so tantalizing. Everyone strained his/her ears to hear any good tidings from the meeting in Juba.
It was such a relief when the President of the South Sudanese Students’ Union in Zimbabwe sent an eye-catching message through group WhatsApp that the Government made a resolution that the fees, as well as stipends, should be paid after a week or two.
Having mentioned these, the South Sudanese students would want to express their heartfelt gratitude to the government of South Sudan under the leadership of H.E President Salva Kiir Mayardit for ensuring that students continue with their studies without any disturbance and that all of them should complete the work that they were delegated to do.
Coupled to the above, they would in the same vain, like to thank the Council of Ministers for giving a heart-soothing assurance pertaining to fees payment. It is worth mentioning that students are thankful to the Minister of Higher Education, Honourable Justice Yen Oral Lam for his indefatigable follow up to make sure that all we need is granted.
They greatly applauded the meeting held by the Minister of Information, Communication Technology, and Postal Services Honourable Justice Michael Makuei for his warm reception of the President of the union with his team. His encouraging words are extolled as he emboldened students to adopt an intellectual approach in handling some touching issues.
Besides, a plethora of appreciations goes to the Minister of Finance, Hourable Stephen Dhieu Dau for his usual cooperation and unquestionable services that he has been delivering since he came to his office.
The President of the Union aptly affirmed that the government has cooperated with students and that they respect the promise so made by the government in order that the process would be effected without any tarry.
In a nutshell, students would like the government to continue supporting them until the mission is accomplished. One of the students put it that they would be honoured and thankful to receive the Minister of Higher Education Honourable Justice Yen Oral Lam as explicated by President of the Union Moses Kat Monyjok.
