March 29, 2018 (SSB) — Pain is a distressing feeling often caused by intense or damaging stimuli. The International Association for the study of Pain’s widely used definition defines pain as “an unpleasant sensory and emotional experience associated with actual or potential tissue damage, or described in terms of such damage” however; due to it being a complex, subjective phenomenon, defining pain has been a challenge. In medical diagnosis, pain is regarded as a symptom of an underlying condition.

Pain motivates the individual to withdraw from damaging situations, to protect a damaged body part while it heals, and to avoid similar experiences in the future. Most pain resolves once the noxious stimulus is removed and the body has healed, but it may persist despite the removal of the stimulus and apparent healing of the body. Sometimes pain arises in the absence of any detectable stimulus, damage or disease.

Pain is the most common reason for physician consultation in most developed countries. It is a major symptom in many medical conditions and can interfere with a person’s quality of life and general functioning. Simple pain medications are useful in 20% to 70% of cases. Psychological factors such as social support, hypnotic suggestion, excitement, or distraction can significantly affect pain’s intensity or unpleasantness. In some arguments put forth in physician-assisted suicide or euthanasia debates, pain has been used as an argument to permit people who are terminally ill to end their lives.

In 1994, responding to the need for a more useful system for describing chronic pain, the International Association for the Study of Pain (IASP) classified pain according to specific characteristics: region of the body involved (e.g. abdomen, lower limbs), system whose dysfunction may be causing the pain (e.g., nervous, gastrointestinal), duration and pattern of occurrence, intensity and time since onset, and cause.

However, this system has been criticized by Clifford J. Woolf and others as inadequate for guiding research and treatment. Woolf suggests three classes of pain: nociceptive pain, inflammatory pain which is associated with tissue damage and the infiltration of immune cells, and pathological pain which is a disease state caused by damage to the nervous system or by its abnormal function (e.g. fibromyalgia, peripheral neuropathy, tension-type).

Breakthrough pain is transitory acute pain that comes on suddenly and is not alleviated by the patient’s regular pain management. It is common in cancer patients who often have background pain that is generally well-controlled by medications, but who also sometimes experience bouts of severe pain that from time to time “breaks through” the medication. The characteristics of breakthrough cancer pain vary from person to person and according to the cause. Management of breakthrough pain can entail intensive use of opioids, including fentanyl.

After these points in time, I would like to bring to the attention the concatenations of political insurgents in Northern Upper Nile State that can be termed as a “painful journey” in time gone compared to United Upper Nile State regime system. This echo of the political wars had disheartened the citizens not dance to political insurgents beat. The ability to experience political pain is essential for protection from injury, and recognition of the presence of injury. The political divided in State may occur under special circumstances, such as in the excitement of sport or war: a soldier on the battlefield may feel no pain for many hours from a traumatic amputation or other severe injuries.

Ceaselessly, people are anguishing from agitations, intimidations, terrifying as well as terrorizing by an unlikely effort of State regime that prevents people to enjoy human rights. The citizens have felt painful for many previous months from hurtful tactics and constant campaign of political insurgents in State. This political breakthrough pain in Northern Upper Nile State may be ephemeral and eliminated.

It was unrealistic to envisage or envision that people who were suffering from lack of development, the costliness of goods price, poverty, hunger and poor health could fully enjoy their human rights after several persecutions, maltreatment and tortures by united UNS regime. I would like into this interval to re-prompt H.E the president to intervene with an amicable solution.

Finally, NUNS citizens have confronted the State gangsters’ regime and unhelpful supremacy system that initiated by Chief of political insurgents and his assistant, in which citizens may decide to flee and voyage into the neighboring country to avoid the strangers targeting in State entirely.

This political pain is regarded as a symptom of insecure leaders’ acts that motives the citizens to vote for no confident utterly or entirely to our State supremacy, in order to protect our dignity, values, self-respect and community worthy as promptness by the administration. This Political pain is the common reason for citizens in most cases and it is a major symptom in 7 Counties of NUNS, which interfered with the citizen’s quality of life and general activities as per normal politics.

As a result, if this political climate means death to citizens but is business to NUNS regime, citizens will expose and will uncover the evil greed’s regime activities. If this regime doesn’t leave strangers targeting, bias acts, citizens will confront it and denounce the regime.

However, H.E the president is required to pay his much attention to NUNS system that has been criticized by most intellectuals, youth and clergies or priesthoods as well as by other clergymen for inadequate political hypotheses.

The reason of mess is, most of SPLM cadres were squads that defected from different parties of untied Sudan who have embraced the fragile political of deceptive, false, cunning, cheating, illusory of which we are fatigue off with. Although, into this level of pain motivation there is hope in our hearts; therefore, it isn’t belated for us to call H.E the president of the Republic to save his people from such chronic pain and endemic or widespread diseases of heartless politicians as well as insecure leaders for suck of peace, rapport, and stability.

In conclusion, we are for peace and we love peace, thus our leaders shall try their level best to maintain peace as anticipated.
