Junubeen Eyes and Attention on the National Police Conference in Juba, South Sudan

Saturday, May 19, 2018 (PW) — Openly and without hesitation the general public welcome and salutes the Ministry of Interior and other security sectors for the historical Conference that is being held in the Capital Juba from 17/05/2018 to 20/05/2018 under the Theme “Building trust between the police and the public”
Juba residents are dead scare of night robberies, killings and humiliations under the brutal hands of thugs and heartless criminals who scoffs firm devotion from the security operators.
With utmost expectations and bank on the SSNPS Conference that kicked off a day after South Sudan historical day of 16 May under supervision of the Minster of Interior Hon. Michael Chanjiek and H.E. Salva Kiir Mayardit, President of the Republic of South Sudan and the Supreme Commander of all the Armed Forces as guest of honour hopefully the perforated hearts of Juba populace will be greased.
The conference will rematerialize once again the war against criminals that was declared previously by H.E. President Salva Kiir Mayardit and systematically taken in by Hon. Minister Michael Chanjiek and Former South Sudan IGP General Saeed Chawul.
General Majak Akech Malok on the day he took his office as the new South Sudan IGP instructed his officers not to spare minutes on any an armed criminal found disturbing the peacefulness of citizens.
A call that was received with warm hearts and flashy faces by the public, such order was one of the declarations that patch up broken hearts of the petrified Juba inhabitants.
The great son of the land went ahead and assured his officers that he has no case to follow with any an armed robber and therefore, should not waste their time and energy in pushing them to the procedural chambers.
He plainly instructed his men and women of the police service that his office needs only the guns being use by the criminals during their unlawful activities against vulnerable civilians.
That decorated standpoint from South Sudan IGP General Majak Akech Malok will be a guiding principle in the police history of action, there is no compromise between a police officer who have taken vow of duty and a criminal.
Comrade IGP was fortifying the paternal announcement by H.E. President Salva Kiir Mayardit when he ordered the new batch of police graduates and security personnel to deal methodically with bags and items snatchers that were terrorizing pedestrians within the streets and residential areas of Juba.
‘’Shoot any bag snatcher within your sight’’ that distilled order given to Security personnel by H.E. the President during the graduation of police batch at Juba Stadium in December 2016 has hugely reduced the rate of items snatching in Juba by 90%.
We hope the same compassionate orders from H.E. President Salva Kiir Mayardit and South Sudan IGP General Majak Akech Malok will gather elements of energy from SSNPS Conference and ensures that the coercions happening at nights within the residential areas are stop.
Regardless of tireless commitment by the Security Sectors such as the brilliant and energetic 777 unit (a no nonsense giving Emergency and Response Unit of SSNPS) and JOU/Joint Operation Unit which has its present within some of the residential areas still many areas within and around Juba City have been riding on the rough neck of insecurity caused by subsequent nights of robberies and killings.
Criminals are mysterious group of people that can even put masks on their faces and killed their own parents, colleagues and partners.
They are heartless and mindless and therefore, should not be given rooms for minor accommodations.
Those horrific nights’ activities being carried out by robbers need an intensive operation and attention, it is both tarnishing and undermining the services of South Sudan decorated and selfless sons and daughters who have given up their personal gains for the greatness of this nation.
Such heartless and restless killings and looting have never been component of South Sudanese life style therefore, there is a need for a workable plan that can encounter it, and this can be achieved through coordinated effort both from the Security departments and the public.
Giving it less attention may create an open corridor that can be exploited by the enemies of peace.
Looking closely into many incidences of night robberies that happened in Juba they are characterized by inhuman and merciless actions.
On the plain edge of truth the economic hardship that the country is going through is on the sleeve of everyone, this could not propel criminals to ruthlessly stress and infuse sleepless nights to the already stressed citizens.
Hopefully the 4 days South Sudan National Police Services Conference will according to its Theme “Building trust between the police and the public” push in more energy of commitment within the police units and other security organs such that the public can without hindrance benefit from protection oath that houses right to be respected, right to properties and right to life.
