Wednesday, May 23, 2018 (PW) — It has been wrongly defined by many scholars and political commentators that the current ongoing war in south Sudan since 2013 up to date as a tribal war between two hostile tribes (Dinka versus Nuer). In fact, majority of them are hostile of which their hostile attitudes is the reason they don’t have kingdoms in their respective history since the creation of Adam and Eve. The aforementioned perceptions of some scholars were narrowly concluded owing to the political rivalry between the former vice president and the incumbent president who both originated from the above mentioned tribes.

And in the actual sense, their rivalry has nothing to do with the interest of their tribes since both Nuer and Dinka are they mostly affected by the current sky rocking of everything in the market, they are loitering unemployed since all the gates to heaven are blocked in regard to the intentional denial of both tribes to work with NGOs since they are said to be hostile and warmongers. Their overall sole purpose by then which thereafter led to the outbreak of senseless and meaningless war realistically was how to maintain their vested interests over the wealth of the nation with their kin and close associates.

It was a complete war of positions and control over public resources in my own perspective, my perspective can merely be substantiate by the last month statement from the president that what could be his incentive if he bring peace and step a side as requested by opposition alliance.

Always, men with vested interests who are satisfied with the way things are now are bound to resist any effort to change the situation, even if somewhat imperfect, is better than unknown future. Thus, the change will effect betterment in the living standard of the suffering indigent or not. They don’t care since their luxurious life in the present situation is not affected and are still in the status quo enjoying their sweat-less wealth as of now.

And with all this, I am of the view that, men with vested interests within the ruling party whether SPLM in government, former political detainers, in opposition under Machar, in opposition in Government under the current controversial first vice president which was recently amalgamated together  with the SPLM in Government  or the SPLM without  of self aggrandized and  self proclaimed supreme spokesperson  of Government, SPLA and presidency constitute the fundamental problem of south Sudan since they are against peace and prosperity to the population of south Sudan. They don’t want to see quick realization of peace and in particular the SPLM without who will be the first victims according to their evil views.

It is now apparently clear that the impediments to peace realization in the republic of south Sudan are men with vested interests who want to achieve their individual selfish goals and objectives. How can we  remained hopeful that our everlasting peace is coming with none other than the current company when they have shifted from beating the drum of true to beating the drum of confusion, war and destruction mercilessly.

They are like deaf person who continuously dance when the music has already stop or a drunkard going to the departed drum.  How can we be optimistic that they will bring about peace when each  rows it own way with his/her vested interest that need to be achieves regardless of what might befall the poor.

Men with vested interests within SPLM factions has undeniably proof one of the African proverb right and here I quote ‘’when the head of the household dies, the house becomes an empty shell’’. Sincerely speaking, the premature and questionable departure of Dr John Garang had created vacuum in the party that will be fill when pig fly by the entire members of the ruling and intentionally fragmented party commonly called SPLM.

Currently, the company comprises of men and women who are too rigid and full of egoism, they have no pity and wisdom to think critically and exert more efforts by striving all the avenues to build bridges so as to unite the politically divided social fabric of our population. They need to double their efforts and unite their factions and work toward the alleviation of the suffering inflicted on the innocent people of south Sudan who have opted to die silently.

Often, men with vested interests particularly in the transitional government of National unity  are  busy creating confusion  and engineer war from nowhere by labeling any opposite  viewer as a rebel since it is the only tool nowadays being used in south Sudan political arena to  eliminate your political opponent.

It is a continuous process, but for their information, continuous cunning and mocking of others for your own selfish and bloody interest is not a solution to your everlasting stay in the current paradise since the situation can befall you one day and you will feel and taste how painful is the business. Climbing up is always easier than climbing downward. Know that the world we are in is so crazy as said by late Lucky Dubee of which impossibilities might be turned in to possibilities whether you like it or not.

Finally, we are longing for peace to prevail in south Sudan but I am completed pessimistic since men with vested interest are busy rowing their separate route in Addis Ababa.

How can we expect peace when Michael Makwei and Elia Lomuro are there in the peace talk? More than ten opposition parties are there longing for positions in the would-be second unity Government in Juba. 42 proposed ministerial positions and 15 deputies will possibly empty our national treasury and thereafter accompany by another objectiveless and meaningless war and subject us again to further destitution, begging and starvation in the Centre of abundant resources. God rescue us from these men/women of vested interests since it is another time bomb, Somalization and warlordism in waiting.
