Unity is key to just lasting peace and stability in South Sudan

Wednesday, 31 October 2018 (PW) — We want a united south Sudan, we want south Sudan in peace, and we want a south Sudan for all of us, we needs to raise our voices to say; “together everything is possible”. My fellow’s south Sudanese citizens, the peace celebration on 31 of October should end the long civil war and calls for a unified action towards the shared aspiration for a just, comprehensive and enduring peace regardless of ideology, tribes, and culture.
The works for peace is not only for those who are affected. It doesn’t matter if we live in peaceful area or outside fragile communities. We are must united in our journey towards peace and stability.
Peace, as we all know, is very important in our lives and it is essential to our overall well being. However, regrettable civil war that denigrate us for five years in our country, which was being brought by political conflict and disagreements between politicians, which has left our peoples in it a deplorable emotional and physical state.
South Sudanese should know the conflicts that can prevent peace from being possible are conflicts between different tribes, section, clan, groups, and so on, which are quite frequent in our country.
If this continues, then any chance of peace will be lost, so we should try as much as possible to raise the future generations that will replace us one day to value peace above all else so that our country will be better place.
Any kind of violence, even in its lowest form can be a huge burden to peace and that is why we must stamp it out in order to preserve peace and the lives of millions innocent people.
In any case, conflict is senseless and accomplishes nothing for us; rather, it creates more problems. In fact, it is a big factor contributing to revenge, which is one of the biggest hindrances to peace.
However, it does not have to be this way as there is still hope for us to become peaceful.
How? Peace has many benefits if we give it chance, and it is a far more favourable option than conflicts. Imagine all the positive developments we could make if we were to have lasting peace throughout in our independent. It might be hard, but we must all learn to do it.
A solution to these conflicts is finding some sort of common ground or understanding from the neutral point of view of a mediator.
Our leaders should come to their sense of mutual understanding, because the military answers to political problems can’t change anything but only the life losing of an innocent’s citizens.
I believe the only answer to abhorrence in our country is that the south Sudanese should learn how to combat the message of love, peace and unity between because we cannot keep fighting hate with hate, bullets with bullets, and war with war.
It’s for us to wake up, stand up and stand together to end all this violence, so that we can change and make this country a place of which all of us are proud.
