Response to malicious attributions and lies being levelled against Hon. Deng Dau Malek

Response to malicious attribution and lies being circulated in Digital, Print, and Social Media as well as our Community (Twic East), in a publication dated 19th October 2015 that; Honorably Deng Dau Deng Malek has called his community a rebel

Deng Daau Maleek, Chairperson of War Disabled, Widows and Orphans Commission in South Sudan

November 6, 2015 (SSB)  —  Having learnt about malicious attribution made by 20 gentlemen who claimed to have voted Hon. Deng Dau to NLA when they do not even know the constituency of their representative in the National Parliament.

Dear brothers, sisters, and esteemed readers of this sincere and honest note. Hon. Deng Dau Malek has not even alter a word for instance an ‘’idiot’’ to any one in that material day at Gen. Bior Ajang’s house, leave alone calling the entire community a ‘’rebel’’.

We are writing this letter for formality, because the rumors and lies going around are not coming out from the duly elected member of national Legislative Assembly for Twic East County [constituency number 11] Hon. Deng Dau Deng Malek but from his competitors for the newly decreed Jonglei state’ s governorship. Therefore, that letter does not holds water or no truth in it. It is a political rhetoric that is an obvious political propaganda, it does not need anybody to have a certificate in political science for him or her to know that.

To make it clearer; we felt obliged to give a brief explanation for the Sham Elections done in Twic East County (Gubernatorial post)

The Process started with Bumas forwarding their candidates or aspirants to the Payam stage, for instance, Lualajokbil Buma which is Awulial in this case brought Chol Biar-adol to Nyuak Payam, Dachuek and Ayual brought Dut Achuek and Mayom Riak respectively, these three aspirant failed to agree among themselves to allow one person to proceed to the County level. The leadership of Mr. Jurkuch Barach had no choice but to carry out the election at the Payam level, Dut Achuek won that fair election.

We are calling it fair because the defeated candidate conceded the outcome of the results. From that order Dut Achuek became the sole contester in Nyuak Payam awaiting the election in Twic East County level. That was how it was done also done in other Payams e.g Lith Payam brought Dr Dau Aleer Abit, Pakeer Payam also came with Ateng Amos-Agok, and Kongor Payam decided not to field a candidate.

That was not the case in Ajuong Payam; particularly Makir Buma where three aspirants came came up namly; Hon. Deng Dau Deng, SPLA Spokesperson Col. Philip Aguer, and Juma Arok Maketh who was faced out while the other two candidates drew 16/16 in an election by maker Buma, thereafter their names were forwarded to AJuong payam. The leadership of the Payam suggested that, the two Bumas who had no candidates Pawel and Wurlir should vote/decide for the candidates as to select who should present them at the County level. Col Philip Aguer Panyang refused/ rejected that decision.

Thus; Ajuong Payam leadership communicated back to Makir Buma to redo the selection and come up with one person amongst the contestants for governorship. Makir buma goes by the Churchill way saying the ballot box is the best judge, where by each chief has to nominate five voters of which there are six chieftains in the Buma totaling to 30 voters. Hon. Deng Dau Deng agreed Payams suggested process but; Col Philip Aguer Panyang turned it down. And So the Buma remained with no option but to return back without any solutions to Ajuong Payam.

At this third attempt the leadership of Ajuong Payam proposed that each buma should bring two people to decide on who to go to the county level on behalf of the Payam among four candidates including but not limited to Hon. Deng Dau who accepted meanwhile Col Philip Aguer Panyang once again refused and accused Ajuong Payam leadership and elders of bribery, bias and described them as not impartial enough to conclude on this nomination exercise. People have been talking of popularity issue, here in Ajuong Payam situation of selecting a candidate, who is popular between the two persons?

Is it one who has continuously rejected the elections at a buma and Payam levels? Or the one who had been consistently accepting any elections proposal at both buma and payam levels? The answer is simple, where does charity begin? It definitely begins at home, where is the home of Col. Philip Aguer Panyang? Is it Twic, Ajuong or Makir?

How at Twic East County level it became messy and messy, because with Ajuong Payam bringing four candidates, while the rest of the Payams brought one each. Even a lunatic could have told Ajuong Payam to go back for another attempt and bring one sole candidate that was not the case.  The electoral commission headed by Sudan African National Union (SANU) Member which was also our complaint.  Why is the election of SPLM being conducted or managed by a member of an opponent party?

Another complaint; this committee was nominated by one of the candidates without consultation from other members of Twic East County leadership that was also not fair enough. Lastly there was an intruder person in the commission who imposed himself to be writing the minutes of the electoral commission, named; Chol Dhieu Chol, in real sense; he is an agent of Philip Aguer Panyang. Those complaints of Honorable Deng Dau fallen on deaf ears of electoral committee Members.

For your understanding of the above message if the Twic East people had a chance and right to nominate or elect Ajuong Candidates; We have brought this case forward to you so that you have judgment based on what you have understood from this explanation.

‘’If you go by the above mentioned statements and ask yourself a query’’, was there any election done with the participation of Hon. Deng Dau? You will concur with us that no election was done, and if so where is the notion coming from that Honorable Deng Dau get Zero vote? When we all know he has never participated in any election.

We are an authority as you may go along our names after reading this statement, it is to be noted that Hon. Deng Dau is the right man lead our new state given his strong back ground in politics and forwardness he has shown during these times of crisis and his presence in the assembly has been very objective.

Our advice to Twic East County Politicians is that, let’s restraint from political wise-hunting and practice, political clear-headedness and ideological principles. What happen on 19th Oct, 2015 was a clear witch hunting and black-mail to honorable Deng Dau because of his records speaking by themselves he became common enemy to all political forces.

As an authority, on behalf of our community (Twic East County) we are thanking the president of the Republic of South Sudan General, H.E Salva Kiir Mayardit for the creation of the twenty eight (28) States in our Country.
