“Building the Returnee State: Returnee Integration in South Sudan” is the latest research product of the Centre for Strategic Analyses and Research.  The paper explores issues around the returnee reintegration, specifically how the reintegration process is working in South Sudan.   Issues addressed in the research include access to economic opportunity, permanent settlement and social services.  The study focuses on the states of Northern Bahr El Ghazal and the Western Bahr El Ghazal.

The aim of C-SAR is to be a leading institution in the development and sharing of knowledge in South Sudan and beyond.  This knowledge encompasses areas of economic growth, promotion of democracy, civil rights and rule of law, and the consolidation of the regional peace.  In South Sudan, such knowledge is limited by many factors including absence of any meaningful data.  It is through collection and analysis of data that meaningful trends are drawn.  The collection and analysis of data is a key pillar in C-SAR’s main objective to produce and disseminate innovative, cutting edge work on development that have a link to practical application.
