Press for Immediate Release
November 2, 2013
DEMOCARTIC CHANGE STAR IS ON RISE in the Republic of South Sudan (RSS).
WASHINGTON – The SPLM-DC Chairman and official opposition leader Dr. Lam Akol Ajawin will arrive from Cairo, Egypt to Juba, the Capital City of RSS today November 2, 2013.This is a historic moment and move to demonstrate that the future looks challenging, but promising in-depth look at a rising of democracy.
we sensed the political atmosphere in RSS is changing with tolerant to opposition parties as such SPLM-DC’s role will be to strengthen opposition parties with formidable force to effect change and pointing out the weakness of the government to create checks and balance in decision making process and not necessarily to replace government; while we recognize the responsibility of the government as the policy implementers.
we see Dr. Lam as a symbol of the principal progressive and reformed leader we’ve made as a nation, his speech is passionate and demanded equal access to opportunity and a fair distribution of national resources that every South Sudanese deserves to feel the pride of their nations fruit, regardless of who they are or what ethnic group they are born. There has got be a universal moral obligation in our justice system, public services and diversity treatment to meet and secure equilibrium of our unity.
The SPLM-DC’S mission of smaller government, War on corruption, and democratic values to transform RSS to a full democratic nation is gaining traction across the RSS and ascending rapidly on the national stage. Mandatory jail sentences for corrupt individuals who misappropriate national resources will not be tolerated.
We would like to highligt that Our Unity in diversity is key and compelling. Now you may think this is impossible given the past eight years of RSS self rule overwhelmed with massive challenges, but the political nightmare facing politicians who were involved, practiced and supported corruption and injustices at the time have just began. If you and DCers are going to straighten out inequality and corruption mess and lift up our diversity to a more prosperous future, you have to rally behind the change. You see, democracy will not happen unless it’s pushed, preached, and practiced.
The SPLM-DC top official who spoke on condition of anonymity of the Akol’s return stressed that there is need for Churches, Civil Societies, communities, gruops, and individuals to play a positve role in enlightning RSS population on importance of democracy and unity.
Let us rally and wecome our brother, father and leader Dr. Lam Akol home so that he can equally contribute to the development of our new nation.
