The leadership of Ngundeng’s family, and the custodians of Prophet Ngundeng’s rod and other relics, call upon the Lou Nuer White Army to stop fighting the government of South Sudan and must therefore return to their villages to attend to their cattle and farms. It came to the attention of Ngundeng’s family that the White Army was mobilized by certain politicians to fight the democratically elected government of South Sudan. It has been observed that certain politicians used the name of prophet Ngundeng as a means to mobilize the Nuer youth to fight a political war.

The family of prophet Ngundeng is seriously warning politicians, who attempted to use the name of Ngundeng for selfish political ends to destabilize South Sudan, to stop blackmailing innocent Nuer youth. The family would like to inform the people of South Sudan, and the international community, that Ngundeng was a prophet of peace who never targeted any tribe in South Sudan. Prophet Ngundeng had never launched a war against anybody or a tribe in South Sudan during his life time. He always preached peace and the unity of the black people against external invasion of Arabs and Turks.

It is very alarming and disturbing that certain politicians used the name of prophet Ngundeng to recruit innocent children to take part in a war that was politically motivated. Political rivalry within the SPLM party has nothing to do with prophet Ngundeng or Nuer community. Prophet Ngundeng’s prophecies never endorsed a particular member of the SPLM party, nor was there a Nuer politician predicted to come to power through violence. The distortions of Ngundeng’s prophecies disturbed the family of the prophet that it is now contemplating taking legal actions against certain politicians who are abusing the name of the prophet Ngundeng.

The family of Ngundeng is urging the government of South Sudan, UNMISS and Human Rights Watch to investigate the killings of innocent Nuer and Dinka by the parties to the conflict. It should also be acknowledged that the misuse of Ngundeng’s prophecies by certain politicians does tantamount to crimes against humanity and cultural values of the Nuer tribe. Ngundeng’s prophecies could not be used by certain politicians to perpetuate conflict in South Sudan in order to reach to power.

The leadership of Ngundeng’s family warns all the members of the Lou Nuer White Army not to disobey the position of Ngundeg’s family and must therefore return to their villages. Failure to heed the advice of prophet’s family would lead to serious charges and consequences.

The family of Ngundeng is urgently urging the two warring factions of the SPLM to resolve their differences through dialogue. As it is known in his teachings, prophet Ngungdeng used to encourage people to resolve conflicts through peaceful means. During his time, he united Nuer and Dinka chiefs to work together and the prophet ended cattle raiding between the two tribes.

President Kiir praises Prophet Ngundeng’s family

February, 15, 2014
The President of South Sudan Gen Salva Kiir Mayardit has lauded the position taken by the family members of Prophet Ngundeng Bong regarding misinterpretations of the Prophet’s prophecies.
President Kiir said in a press release on Friday that, Dr. Riek Machar and his accomplices envisioned themselves as entrusted with the future of the Nuer, causing violence and deaths. President Kiir welcomed such a patriotic stance by the family.
He said in the release that the government has great honor to Prophet Ngundeng Bong because all his prophecies advance prosperity of the Nuer people and South Sudan who shared an enduring lineage with the Nuer in blood, cultures and as an institution hosted by values of peace and prosperity, unlike what has been taken by the rebels who are trying to misinterpret prophecies in their favor to cause confusion amongst the gullible Lou Nuer youth.
For hundred years, Ngundeng prophesy has stood as a beacon of Nuer learning, and in the following decades, Ngundeng has been a source of Nilotic advancement, and up to today he is still  believed to represent the harmony between tradition and progress.
Prophet Ngundeng family members had earlier on issued a circular, warning those who are trying to cause chaos in the name of prophet Bong, would be charged.
‘‘The government is grateful to Ngundeng’s family in their attempt to protect the Prophet’s spiritual integrity and their call to all the Nuer politicians to avoid driving into tension rooted in historical forces, that go beyond the prophet wishes of co-existence and cooperation, and not to political conflicts and religious war’’, the release stipulated.
President Kiir also said that Prophet Bong had never encouraged war but had consistently been prophesying a peaceful society.
“For more than a decade, and recently, tension has been fed by political ambitions of Dr. Riek Machar, who denied the rights and opportunities for many Nuers, in which majority were too often treated as proxies without regard to their own aspirations to build South Sudan,. Moreover all these emanate from misinterpretation of Prophet Ngundeng prophecies,”the release emphasized.
The release concluded that previously South Sudanese relationship was not defined by differences. The government will deal with those who sow hatred rather than peace, and who promote conflict rather than cooperation, that can help the people of South Sudan to achieve justice and prosperity. This cycle of defaming Ngundeng prophesies must end.
On the same occasion, Press Secretary of the President, Mr. Ateny Wek said that government’s Chief negotiator, Hon Nhial Deng Nhial had come to Juba to consult with the President and senior government officials on how substantial negotiations would progress hereafter.
Wek also denied the involvement of President Kiir in the resignation of Warrap state Minister of Information, citing relevance article in the Transitional Constitution of the republic of South Sudan, which does not allow the President to interfere in affairs of states.
He said the minister could have possibly resigned based on intelligent information linking her to those who staged coup against the government, something which contravenes with the principles of the democratically elected government.
