HIS EXCELLENCY VICE PRESIDENT WANI IGGA IS NOT RIEK MACHAR’S TISSUE PAPER!

February 9, 2015 (SSB) — First of all we, Bhar el Ghazal Youth living in Kenya want to appreciate the SPLM and government of South Sudan under Excellency President Salva Kiir Mayardit for signing intra-SPLM re-unification with SPLM IO and SPLM former political detainees. It is a great commitment and right decision in the right place for SPLM to re-unite for sake of peace and South Sudan as a whole.
We would also need to extend our heartfelt appreciation to His Excellency President Salva Kiir, the President of our Republic and Dr.Riek Machar, the leader of SPLM in Opposition and former vice president of our Republic for their continued commitment in working to bring peace in South Sudan.
Though we are happy for continued signing of cessation of hostilities between SPLM in arms and the government of the Republic of South Sudan, we Bhar el Ghazal Youth in Kenya are not happy with IGAD proposed agreement that re-instate Dr.Riek Machar as First Vice president and the incumbent Vice President Wani becoming the second vice president.
We reject the clause that brings back Machar as First vice president for this is an insult against the will of South Sudanese and an act condoning with evil. We know His Excellency Wani Igga is a light-hearted politician whose heart first belongs to South Sudan unlike the man he always steps down for.
He did this in 2002 to accommodate always disgruntle Machar for sake of South Sudan to achieve what it was worth for and that is Comprehensive Peace Agreement-CPA which paved way for the independence of now Republic of South Sudan. That is worthy mentioning of His Excellency Wani Igga to show to Dr. Machar the worthiness of being a patriotic citizen of a state.
That deserve endless applause and appreciation to Mr.Igga that indeed South Sudan stands first before your individual interest. Does this make sense this time around for Wani Igga to create room for the second time to always troublesome Machar?
To us as Bhar el Ghazal Youth it is big no for any second chance being given by Wani to Dr. Riek Machar in the name of meaningless peace for the following reasons:
- Riek continued and endless commission of crimes to get to power should not be rewarded this time around especially for Igga to step down for him. No time to condone with evil in South Sudan.
- Why should legitimate and patriotic son of SPLM and South Sudan always give way to illegitimate, unpatriotic and heartless believed son of SPLM and South Sudan? Never should it happen again for His Excellency Vice president of South Sudan, Mr. Igga to be a tissue paper for power greedy Dr. Machar.
- Has it solved Riek’s continued ruthless dream for power after Wani stepped down for him in 2002? No, it has even increased his endless greed for power that is why he again attempted the same failed coup (he did to Dr.Garang) to legitimate government of the people of South Sudan under President Kiir Mayardit. If Wani repeat the same this time around, it will triple his always greed for power.
- What will prevent others from following the same footsteps of Dr. Machar to seek power? Never should the crime committed against South Sudanese always be rewarded in favour of poor heartless leaders like Riek Machar.Why should elite class in the name of Dr. Machar always get favours against the majority poor south Sudanese? Please Mr. Igga let there be no South Sudan than having Machar back above you since this has never helped before.
- South Sudan is too big than Riek Machar and all other leaders and that is why Mr.Wani Igga took a patriotic move in 2002. Machar just need to come back to Juba since all have signed the re-unification SPLM just like did to him in 2002 for sake of South Sudan.
We are standing with majority South Sudanese that Wani should not pave way this time for Machar nor should Machar be awarded position for crimes he committed against the people of South Sudan.
We sounding a warning to His Excellency President Kiir and Wani Igga to listen to the voice of South Sudanese not to accept back Dr. Machar for peace is never achieved when you brought him back in 2002 just like current suggested procedure.
Our voice must count this time around Your Excellency president Kiir and Wani Igga or else we will re-think our support if Machar continued evil practice be rewarded against South Sudanese’ will.
We are standing with you to defend South Sudan from any enemy that is working for its downfall in the name of Dr. Machar and the likes. Never will you let the external forces sway the voice of South Sudanese who rejected Machar long time ago and that is why only few cliques in the name of greed for power join his ill-advised rebellion.
We listen to your speech address to us Mr. Igga when you visited Nairobi last year and when you assured us never to step down for Machar this time around even if God comes. Please keep your words for we are with you to the end and never this time should you even give an inch of your deserved power to Dr. Riek Machar Teny.
Leaders are made Mr. President and Vice president that is why South Sudanese made power for you but not Riek Machar! Replacing war with another war is evil itself !
