Dear Ambassador Mawien Makol Ariik
Dear Ambassador,
First of all I do not speak on behalf of Paanluel website but i am a regular visitor and commentator of the blog. I am thrilled by its efficiency and effectiveness in conveying information about beloved South Sudan and the rest of the world.
Yes some of us if not all know the importance of your ministry of foreign affairs but this does not amount to turning away an eye on its activities. For sure, the anonymous diplomats have done the right things for exposing the short comings of your ministry.
This is something you should have appreciated instead of condemning it. The diplomats seemed to have done nothing wrong except being anonymous. This is courageous way of starting or testing ground for dialogue or reform in the long run.
The best you should have done was to answer some of their concerns so that you dispel their fears and the public at large particularly those who have read the article and believed what they said. I believed what they said is true going by the nature of this country.
They have made serious allegations that should worry you Mr. Ambassador and your leadership team.
1. No clear employment policy in place in the ministry
2. Two or three ambassadors at one mission
3. One of the ambassadors in charge of petty cash
4. Children deployed as diplomats abroad
Mr. Ambassador you should know that the diplomats for reforms have more credibility then the people you have decided to shield from responsibility. It is time to welcome voices calling for reforms without being so defensive if this country is to progress.
We are well aware that the country’s foreign police is at stake because of the aforementioned malpractices.
God bless.
