Unfair Distribution of Power in Lakes State will Create Political Chaos
What next after the positions of Speaker and Deputy Governor are allocated to greater Yirol and who cares?

July 19, 2015 (SSB) —- One of the tremendous step that made me happy is the allocation of the two positions of Deputy Governor’s and Speaker’s to greater Yirol not because they deserve two positions but because it was well calculated by Cueibet prominent politician and failed smartly. Lakes State has been experiencing unfair political balancing since the appointment of Caretaker Governor in 2013.
For the benefit of those outside Lakes State, I want to throw a light on how we share a power among ourselves and this is the motive behind our coexistence as Lakes State’s people.
It is like this. Lakes State is made up of 8 Counties of which 6 Counties came under the great two Umbrellas including Greater Rumbek and Greater Yirol as well, and the 2 separate Counties including Cueibet and Wulu Counties respectively. This is the picture of former and current Lakes State formation whether you need it or not that is what we stand for.
The first formation of Lakes State Government in 2005 led by Gen. John Lat Makoi from Cueibet County as the first appointed Governor Deputized by David Nok Marial from Greater Rumbek, Isaiah Alier Mashinkok as the Speaker from Greater Yirol was seen as a significant achievement and sense of power sharing among our Communities. After the long hard-lining between Comrade John Lat and the group against him, we witnessed his removal by our President in which was seen as a good step to resolve the State crisis.
When John Lat appointment was terminated, the only choice at hand according to President was to demote the Interior Minister Daniel Awet Akot to be the Governor of Lakes State and all those people who wanted the position from John Lat failed to Convinced His Excellency the President.
Daniel Awet Akot served as the Governor following the foot step of Gen. John Lat without power sharing complaints, the same was applied by our first elected former Governor Eng. Chol Tong Mayay.
The Question is what happens now? Infact, the writer need to finger point the Caretaker Governor and his Group who claim to be the supreme politicians of Lakes State and whose political calculation against others is to make sure they are not prosper politically.
Much of my disappointment and blame in the current political imbalance in Lakes State should be directed to Cueibet’s prominent MP. Who has been serving as a Minister for 10 years since the formation of Lakes State Government in 2005.
I don’t like the attitude of our prominent politician whom I don’t want to mention his name and whose attitude is to fight for his own interest and not the interest of Cueibet Community.
He was behind the impeachment of former Speaker Hon. John Marik Makur and failed to be the speaker. Infact, he attempted two trails and failed to prosper and the only calculation left in his hand is to again trying the position of Deputy Governor where the possible means was to kick away Hon. Baipath Majuech as the speaker and replaced by somebody from Greater Yirol in the exchange of Deputy Governor’s position. We have seen the illegal removal of Rt. Speaker Baipath Majuech and this was the calculation behind the move.
What he miscalculated and did not know was that our Caretaker Governor is not dull enough to appoint him as his Deputy with his unstable political calculations in Lakes State.
To my conclusion readers, I am happy to see the two positions of Deputy Governor and Speaker’s allocation to greater Yirol and none of us from Cueibet Community Cares because it was a political calculation by Cueibet itself.
