Hate individuals, not communities, for what they (individuals) have done
By Peter Mach, Kampala, Uganda
August 4, 2015 (SSB) — I have no fixed hatred for Nuer just like I have no fixed love for the Dinka. i measure each of them correctly on the weighing scale. That to me determine whether or not i should hate or love a given community. But then, i hate Riek Machar and love Kiir Mayar. That one you should take to the bank.
Riek Machar rebelled in 1991 on the dictatorship ground against john Garang, he wanted the best for black people of the south who occupy the southern part of the country (Sudan). His differences with Garang Mabior took a tribal shape. The tribal warfare between the supposedly Dinka and Nuer was so ugly to the point that even Nuer themselves started fighting each other under his presumably democratic and pro separation NASIR FACTION. The end result was to go to Khartoum instead of coming back to the TORIT FACTION in time to avoid further bloodshed.
In Khartoum riek’s gun faced southward (the very people he claimed to rescue from Arabs) that in itself beat the logic. How can a man of my age understand that formula? According to Riek machar, to bring freedom to your people, one must first side with enemy against his people so that they can achieve freedom later on. It is unfounded belief only applicable to Riek Machar alone.
Kiir mayar nearly rebelled in 2004 against Garang mabior while in Yei. If the rebellion were to be successful, his faction would have taken the YEI FACTION name for he was like Riek machar controlling Yei exactly like Nasir. Near to home and a lot of barh el ghazal soldier were readily available for his bloodletting business had Yei faction materialized.
He like Riek machar accused Garang Mabior of dictatorship among many other things. The similarity here is that, had Kiir mayar executed his dissatisfaction against Garang, intra tribal war would have erupted between the Bor dinka of Garang against the barh el ghazal dinka of Kiir mayar. (Bor dinka of Garang mabior is a minority against the majority barh el ghazal dinka of Kiir mayar) .blood would have flown like a merciless flooding more especially from the Bor people of Garang mabior. Whatever prevented Kiir mayar from executing that ripe plan remain to be his added advantage today there is no doubt.
Some people today call it patience, tolerance, humility, meekness, forgiveness and above all, love for each other. (i have no justification to that). He was hot at the time while addressing the public rally in Yei. I was there and I jotted down most of what he had to say. He was accusing Garang of what exactly Riek is accusing him of today (dictatorship, kitchen cabinet, brief case movement, lack of delegation of powers, insubordination, lack of transparency and development and all just like brother riek today)
what i did not hear was drunkardness and lack of capability as is the case now with riek machar against Kiir mayar, what i did not hear was the hidden hands of america in support of kiir mayar against Garang mabior as is the case now with riek machar against kiir mayar.
what i hear was that kiir warn his ready to shoot barh el ghazal soldiers (at that time) that should one fire at Bor people, the cross will be his to carry alone, what kiir did was to deny Yei the much needed oxygen, it was as if the unwanted will happy before now. Bor people everywhere and Yei in particular breathed in every air as if it was going to be the last. (You need not to doubt i was there)
Kiir mayar threatened war while in actual sense he wanted dialogue, peace, reconciliation, and above all a common way forward. He managed to achieve dialogue, reconciliation and above all a common way forward through Rumbek dialogue partly but greatly by keeping his dogs and cats away and well locked up less they may do the unwanted things.(bloodletting business) i applaud him for that otherwise had he to be the Riek machar, I would not have been here today.
I will not do to you what Riek machar did to you the Bor people in 1991, Kiir said while addressing the rally in Yei while returning from Rumbek. This was an insult well received by the Bor dinka for it was better than actual bloodletting that he had controlled. You have to be a Bor dinka for you to know how painful it is for one[ a brother] to reminds you of 1991.but it was better for a brother to insult you instead of bringing the actual 1991 practically to you in Yei in 2004 (different time, place and person yet the same action). i applaud Kiir mayar for that otherwise what was lacking. Guns or shooters?
The 2013 rebellion of Riek must be given clearly to him, wonderful son of machar teny dhurgon. Repeating the same mistake twice and go away with it. i lack the capacity otherwise i would have awarded him another PhD. in conflict enhancement just like i lack the same capacity to award Kiir mayardit a PhD. in conflict abatement.
Juba massacre is true, everyone was massacred in juba on that fateful night of 15th dec. 2013 by the mentally enslaved persons of Riek machar. (M.E.P.R.M). NOT by Nuers, not by Dinkas.
As lucky as he (Riek) is, up on his return to juba from Khartoum, Addis, Nairobi and Washington, ceremonial or not, he will be politely asked, WHY DID YOUR M.E.P.R.M. (Mentally Enslaved Persons of Riek Machar/Movement) killed God’s people twice? and as is the case like he always do (not providing an answer) he will be encouraged to take up a course in conflict abatement at the Kiir Mayaardit university institute of leadership and conflict resolution for a PhD awards.
Nuer as a community will be encouraged to keep guards of M.E.P.R.M. for the real killer of both Nuer and Dinka and the whole world from dec.15. 2013 is M.E.P.R.M which is happily chaired by non-other than DR. RIEK MACHAR. Not GEN. SALVA KIIR MAYARDIT.
