South Sudanese peace Talks in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
South Sudanese peace Talks in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

August 11, 2015 (SSB)  —  First and foremost, I would to greet my fellow South Sudanese plus all the readers who may have opportunity to go through this article. Honestly, I would like to share my opinion to public on compromise peace proposed by IGAD, although some people may judge my view to negatives view base on their analysis.

As peace talks is going on in Ethiopia Capital under IGAD mediation many people have learned that whatever IGAD leadership doing, proposed or planed to bring peace back to South Sudan in-order to stabilized security in the country is not working. We really need to start looking for new ways to make this country functional because as things stand now, South Sudan has collapsed in many windows. We have noted that IGAD leaders or authorities have nothings to worry about because they are been derived by money. Indeed, they have commercialized the talks.

Our leaders should stop working  on  non-functional mediation  route  under IGAD command because they believe that the vast majority of South Sudan are not clear on their position but they are neutral, actually many people agree with the way the peace is run in Ethiopia capital. This group of people is contributing on negative vision to our nation stability.

Most of IGAD countries who are mediating our peace in Ethiopia are threatening our national stability in different ways, other countries are quiet and neutral about our political game while other countries  has been read as a big  leading champion  who mess up our lives. We really need to start asking ourselves whether we are alright with IGAD.

Some IGAD leaders are found supporting South Sudan rebel in their countries and they tried to deceived us with wrong politic that they are working toward peace to calm South Sudan situation. What’s most annoying is that they are unapologetic about it and believe we owe them something.

Obviously, we are not surprised with Kenya and Ethiopia hosting rebel leader Dr. Riek Machar Teny in their respective countries by providing accommodation and war tactical ideas. They uses to do so in many occasions and that is due to ignorant way of hating other country without reason yet they are well informed about South Sudan problem, but because they are just as arrogant as they like their position.  They are trying to disrupt the unity of the people of South Sudan and confuse local citizens who only want to live in peace in the country by promoting regionalism which will be the power of tribalism in the country.

What I am saying here is that, we are well informed and acknowledged about compromise peace proposed by IGAD plus in Ethiopia capital that South Sudan is going to have one president, two vice presidents and two national armies, where first vice president will be also a president of greater upper Nile region and have shares in the two region of greater Bahr-El-Ghazal and greater Equatoria for thirty (30) months of transitional government.

This has shown the incapability of IGAD plus international communities. They have to prove it to us on while policy did they proposed the power sharing? The compromise peace proposed by IGAD does not reflect the image of South Sudanese people who will be enjoying it in future. IGAD is trying to create a really war among us from talking point of peace agreement proposed.

Indeed, IGAD leadership has proved it weakness in making peace through this proposed compromise peace of South Sudan and as widen proved as champion on corruption in their leadership by trying to bully us. Well, those in rebellion are our brothers as we know very well they are pure South Sudanese who were not satisfy with current government and if IGAD want to offer a really peace to South Sudanese people then IGA has to go through modalities that may accompany peace between two warring parties.

We need peace that will cover and heal the wounded hearts caused by 2013 faction. Peace that will defined rebel position and government position to make equal South Sudan. Peace that will unites all South Sudanese people despite of their region, tribe and cultural diversity. Therefore, in power sharing rebel has right to be given some percentage as peace require government to do so but not what they demanded will be given to them. We need peace that will allow all South Sudanese to apologies to each of every one as a signs of forgiveness and reconciliation.

As a society, we need to start asking ourselves how long we are prepared to stand for this violence. Remembered, the vast majority of the people in this country are quiet, sitting by and pretending all is well does not vindicate the behavior of our people. We are currently led by a very bad ideology, corrupt and bad hearts.  That has lost all the moral integrity to lead us. That’s a fact. We have lost the spirit of nationalism to eradicate the right channel to IGAD plus.

I don’t consider myself among the majority of neutrals. I and a few others who complain about how this country is run are not the threat. It is the frustrated majority who feel helpless and too scared to say anything who should worry this country’s authorities. We are not against any proposed that will bring peace to our nation.

Lastly, I would like to ask my colleagues across the country either in the government or in rebel camp to wake up and join the campaigns to withdraw talks from IGAD and bring its back home so that we can resolve our problem as brothers and sisters within South Sudan because IGAD does not convinced us as citizens of South Sudan.
