"We the willing, led by the unknowing, are doing the impossible for the ungrateful. We have done so much, with so little, for so long, we are now qualified to do anything, with nothing" By Konstantin Josef Jireček, a Czech historian, diplomat and slavist.

Resting Hunter

1 min read

Mayen Ayarbior, Rojo (Kajo Keji) – 1999

There I stood alone

Under sparkling gems on the sky

At a moonless night

Surrounded by divine darkness

Melodic frogs and symphonic crickets.

…………….

There I stood alone

By a lagoon we shared

With creatures of the night

Peaceful and less peace-full

Carefully dipped my hands

To quench a hunter’s thirst.

……………

There I stood alone

Over a life-less mass

Of a beautiful-eyed gazelle

Which could not escape the aim

Of me the fittest of us

But now passing shooting stars

Laughed, sang and played.

……………

There I was alone

Blending fine with creation

Dipped my hands again

Washed one day off

Then retired

To sleep.
