Transform the army into a national force not tribal army
By Mading Abraham Majur, Kampala, Uganda
October 11, 2015 (SSB) — The government of South Sudan should build a professional, disciplined, united and pro-people SPLA meant for impartial defense of all people of South Sudan.
This will help address past and current armies’ mistakes which have come a long way geared towards creating divisionism in the forces and disharmony within the army of South Sudan.
The SPLA should begin to execute its constitutional mandate and should not take sides in partisan politics. It should act professionally in all circumstances and should not be allowed to be dragged in partisan politics that is taking the country into shambles.
We need the army to implement our constitutional mandate like Jamus Division under command of Gen. Maj. Stephen Buoy Rolnyang and Brig. Gen Mading Kuol Yak the deputy command of Jamus Division and Elephant fifth Division under command of Gen. Maj. Manyok Barach for persevering, defending and protecting all people of South Sudan, their property, sovereignty and territorial integrity of South Sudan as signed in CPA of 2005.
It is alleged as it is always published in the media- articles which are construed to mean particular tribal high ranking army officials have favored political actors for whom they express support publically.
