I am a Human, dead or alive
Wenne Madyt Dengs, Juba, South Sudan
–
I’m thrown in the dust
Where I’ve decayed
When the dew dropped on me
I feel abandoned
I am like a lost needle
I’m suffering with you
You have nothing to sew you torn raiment
And you tossed me gone
–
Coldness and heat are known to me
I’m not living or dead
I breathe little stuff that doesn’t make me a human
I’ve shrunk over my skin
I‘m tiny and thorny
–
I see you feeding yourself
Even your dogs are fat
You can’t even throw edible leftover to me
I am naked and less secured
My parents are mold and algae
I am non-green plant
–
Why are you watching me?
You laugh at me
I’m still dead or alive
Never laugh to the last molar
Support me with a smile
Though my mind is acidic
I am still a human
–
I never sleep any night
I guard your house
I take care of your dropping
I clean your lavatory
I take your broods to school
And you call me a dead body
Why?
