SPLM Kenya Chapter Congratulates Cde Jemma Nunu Kumba on her Appointment
Sudan People’s Liberation Movement Kenya Chapter congratulates Cde Jemma Nunu Kumba on her Appointment as Acting SPLM Secretary General; Welcomes Presidential Order 36/15
Nairobi, Kenya
November 16, 2015 (SSB) — We the undersigned Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) cadres in Kenya congratulates the President of the Republic of South Sudan, Gen. Salva Kiir Mayardit the Chairman of the SPLM for the recent move of appointing Comrade Jemma Nunu Kumba as the Deputy Secretary General and assigning her as the Acting Secretary General at a time when SPLM badly needed a cadre of the highest quality to administratively safeguard the affairs of the party for the good of South Sudanese.
We as well congratulate Comrade Jemma Nunu Kumba for the recent redeployment. It was a right move by the president to appoint a vibrant cadre of your caliber that is energetic and enthusiastic in enhancing the core values of the SPLM. However, we trust that you shall with unreserved dedication unleash the SPLM principles and reignite its prowess in all corners of the country.
Nevertheless, with elation, we are humbly submitting our heartfelt gratitude to the Chairman, Salva Kiir Mayardit as well for creation of 18 more states in expansion of our vast territory administrative-wise. The invincible idea had all the credibility its deserve as it satisfies the will of South Sudanese people in all corners of the country, far and wide.
The people of South Sudan have received the idea of further decentralization as services. South Sudanese for long time have been yearning for service delivery closer to them. The desire to have services closer has been the crux of their wails but recent order, 36/2015 has fulfilled it.
It goes without argument that the wild cerebrations the recent order had stirred and is stirring are the cardinal manifestations of its decisiveness and therefore should be embraced and heightened. Since the decision takes service closer to people, Comrade Dr. John Garang’s developmental tactic of sending towns to people has been reshaped and is nearly getting accomplished.
It is upon the concreteness of this order that we are in unison urging the President to steadfastly remain certain and allow the idea to settle well in people’s hearts. The unnecessary pressure being heaped by the rebels, their regional sympathizers, and the international community shouldn’t be enough compel the President for the reversal of the order simply because he isn’t a President of the region or international community.
Since he is the South Sudanese only President, he has to transact South Sudanese businesses without influence from the exterior forces and always should be in conformity with South Sudanese desires. Rebel leaders do not want progress, that is why they opted to destabilize the country by means of weapons and their calls to reverse the order should fall into the deaf ears until they lay down arms and use brains as the tools of changing what they think should be changed.
The chairman with confidence should note that our stance and viewpoint behind him for the decision he made is unswervingly not withering. With no shakiness, the order should remain unchanged and should be noted that any reversal is not desirous and can be another reason for new upheavals which we aren’t ready for unless otherwise.
In the same token, we are urging people of South Sudan to remain committed to the recently signed Peace Agreement despite apparent loopholes for it salvages the country’s image being tarnished by the sellout agents.
Long live, the Republic of South Sudan,
Long live, the SPLM,
Long live, Gen. Salva Kiir Mayardit
Thank you very much,
Yours Sincerely,
Mr. Guor Manyiel Mayiik
